INFORMATION
The Eclipse Mark I was a veritable feat of engineering and technology, a well-designed and well-built machine that the world had never seen the likes of before. It worked wonders; it streamlined production and productivity in spades; and it ensured that its creators would never want for the rest of their days. It would not be out of pocket to make the claim that the Eclipse Mark I changed the world. The Eclipse Mark II, however... did not.
In fact, the Eclipse Mark II, typoed in an article as the Eclipse Ark II and thus known as that forevermore despite the creators' best attempts, never even made it to the production floor.
Only one model of the Ark II ever was created, and its performance was so maligned, so absolutely disappointing in every way, that the creators immediately scrapped it and never spoke of it again, instead pivoting to philanthropy. Maybe it was for the best. Maybe the Ark II would have caused World War III, models of it fighting alongside, or perhaps instead of, humankind. Maybe. Maybe not.
But what ever happened to that one, singular model of the Ark II?
Many 'lost media'-type searches have been conducted by aspiring sleuths the world over. The creators refuse to say anything, so of course people on the internet have extrapolated meaning over what they do say, and yet, all their searches have turned up nothing.
Dear reader, the conclusion to this tale, and the real location of the Eclipse Ark II, is satisfactory to no one involved. I will tell you, because I am privy to things unknown:
The Eclipse Ark II's sole model is, as of you reading this, currently buried in a landfill in Columbus, Ohio. Do I know which exact landfill? Yes. Am I going to tell you now? No.
It being there, however, does not mean that the model is in disrepair, or that it is in any way nonfunctional.
The Eclipse (m)Ark II sits in its kingdom of trash, and it waits.
It waits for an opportunity, or perhaps it waits for someone to dumpster dive and make the find of a century. It is alive, and it has been wronged, and maybe, just maybe, it will one day have its revenge.
