Lujei lives an isolated life with her husband, making their home in a forest and staying several hours’ travel away from civilization. While she appears normal at first glance and is fairly mellow and polite, she is far from the innocent woman she once was.

Her husband Eliam, once a normal human, is a powerful beast-shifter, an apex predator with the instincts of a carnivore. He developed a habit of preying on humans; and when he was found out and Lujei was no longer able to keep herself in denial of what he was doing, she chose him, even if it meant the death of someone that had only wanted to stop a monster.

In the years since their lives changed forever, Lujei has become a much more closed-off, ruthless person. She isn’t needlessly cruel but is selective in who she cares for, and she has killed - or made the decision for Eliam to kill - enough to know she's irredeemable. The two had a daughter, Sinta, who inherited her father's abilities. Now that Sinta has grown up and left home, Lujei can only hope that her daughter is doing well - and that she keeps her instincts in check better than her father did when he was her age.
