How to make your very own pet. By the Professor

You will notice in your Chemistry Textbook a list of items you will need.
Once you have procured each listed item, PLEASE take the time to ensure you are wearing proper eye-wear and protective gloves, as you will be handling various chemicals. If you spill any sort of chemicals on exposed skin, immediately seek a chemical washing station.

The size of the experiment is a matter of personal preference, but in this exercise I will be using a medium-sized drinking glass.

Turn your book to page 167 and begin the experiment by collecting the correct proportions for your ingredients.
Note that you will need incrementally larger containers if you decide to double or triple the proportions and that regardless of the size of the experiment, you will always need only two (2) fresh blue eyeballs. Blue is a suggested color due to the increased receptiveness to light it provides.

You will start out by adding a serving of opaque slime to your container. Keep in mind that opaque slime is known to invariably cause irremovable staining to both clothes and skin until bound by the chemicals mentioned in this exercise, so take caution while handling.

Next, take two eyeballs. Put them side by side and make sure the coloration and size are identical. This is important, as your experiment's vision may be affected without a matching pair of eyes. Also make sure the size of the eyeballs is proportionate to the size of your experiment. Small for small and large for large.

You shall then carefully and slowly begin adding in the chemicals necessary to bind the eyes to the slime and give it viscosity. Mix intermittently.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT YOU PERFORM THIS STEP LAST! ALSO, KEEP IN MIND THE CHEMICALS SHOULD NOT BE ADDED ALL AT ONCE!

Once the final step is completed, you will need to allow the mixture to set for ten (10) minutes before checking for results.
Should the experiment be a success, it will show signs of limited intelligence. Ensure that your mixture can see.

It is now perfectly safe to (And you are highly encouraged to!) handle your new pet!

Care and maintenance is very simple. It will not require water, but it will require feeding.
It will be able to successfully sustain life with two (2) calcium tablets each day.
It will secrete a clear liquid approximately one (1) hour after being "fed".
NEVER COME INTO DIRECT CONTACT WITH THIS SUBSTANCE.

You will notice small signs of sentience. The mixture will prefer to bond with a person who interacts with it daily.
It is capable of movement, yet incapable of containment. It's viscosity allows it to slip through cages with ease and it will prefer to always be around it's owner.
Containment by means of air-sealing is not recommended, as your new pet requires a steady supply of oxygen.

Disposal of the mixture is forbidden by Subetan law (article 683a subsection 5162). If you wish to abandon your experiment, you must take it to your nearest Genetech research center. Your pet will be taken care of until a new, more suitable owner is found.

I hope you have enjoyed this exercise, you may now turn your attention to and enjoy the companionship your new pet has to offer!
