Story idea:
What if the wizards of HP weren't kept apart from the Muggles... if everyone knew about wizards and magic (as they'd have been warned in Voldemort's original attacks). So there would be no need to hide, and maybe the Muggles weren't as bad as they'd expected.
The whole thing could end up being a memory of an idea formulated by Dumbledore or something, hence it being stored in Pensieve
