Jade and Fiero grew up in wealthy families who were supporters of the country’s military. They prided themselves on strength and being the best. They were family friends and both went into the army and got married shortly after. Both moved up the ranks but Fiero excelled and quickly became a celebrated fighter. They began having children, 2 twin boys, and then another set. Jade had to take more time away from politics and fighting to care for their kids. Wen they had another set of twins Fiero wanted to quit. His loyalty to his country was only second to the love he had for his wife and family. When Carnelian and Flare were young they both showed signs of being stronger in magic than physical prowess. Flare’s was not as obvious but Carnelian was gifted. She liked pranking her brothers and loved setting fires. Her parents were concerned the military would take her away, either to get rid of or use. They even tried redirecting her magic. Instead of fireballs they had a druid reshape the element to it’s neighbor -electricity. Static shocks were easier to hide and play off. It was the push they needed to secretly move everyone to another country. They sent the children to ‘private schools’ they were ‘visting distant relatives’, Fiero was ‘undercover’. Quietly they left and soon enough letters became more infrequent and they were forgotten or assumed dead. Or so they hoped. Aries always felt like it was her fault even though they never told their children the whole truth, simply that they moved to the country to spend more time together. The parents never forget and are very careful.
