einon is the youngest in a line of mages known for their immense skill and feats on the battlefield. he feels an enormous amount of pressure to live up to his lineage and, while already naturally talented, spends virtually all of his time studying and training, his quest for improvement never-ending; he has a reputation for practically living in the library of the college he attends.

due to his obsessive need to better himself, einon feels that he doesn't have time for most people, and is usually antisocial and a little rude toward professors and classmates alike. he isn't needlessly cruel so much as more blunt than is polite, but his perceptive nature and honesty can make him quick to point out flaws in others. he also has a tendency toward arrogance, especially concerning his prestigious bloodline.

he has a complicated relationship with lief, a fellow student with considerably more humble beginnings. the two seem to repel and attract one another in turn; they have never quite gotten along and consider themselves competitors at best, yet are drawn to and inspire growth in each other.
