News Archive: Week 22, 2020

Hey Subetans,

This has been a rough week in the real world, and I know a lot of us are escaping to places like Subeta to get away from it. Unfortunately, the real world still exists and is inescapable for the least protected among us and this has been a rough life, not just week.

I want to use this platform to say: We (the Subeta staff) condemn the killings of our black neighbors, and we will continue to make Subeta a place free from racism, sexism, bigotry and other acts of hatred.

To our black and brown users, Subeta will continue to be a place where you are accepted and loved and hopefully a place of refuge to not need to see horrific videos of violence or the news.

I know that I’ll get pushback making a post like this (“this is a virtual pet site, why are you posting politics???”) but every moment that we stay silent is another moment that we are perpetuating racism and white superiority.

Please, stay safe everyone, and know that this is a community that loves and supports you.

It’s just like Saggitarius to make us wait all month for these lovely new stained glass items.

Just a reminder that Vesnali ends at 11:59 pm on May 31st! Once Vesnali ends, you will no longer be able to earn coins or create bouquets. Cinthia will also stop giving out bouquet flowers.

The Vesnali Forums will close at 11:59 pm on June 2nd.

Aw yeah, now we're talking. It's all well and good fighting one huge megabeast - always being able to keep it in your eyesight, dodging it with your tiny person speed. Now we really have a challenge on our hands! And our feet, arms, legs, and really any bit of uncovered skin.

At first, I thought the "legendary" pet of Centropolis was an obvious one. With the bumbus queen herself residing in the Blue Building, this trip at first seemed a breeze. A coast. A walk in Centropolis park. But when I knocked politely on the doors of the Blue Building, password in hand with a request to battle the queen, for some reason I was not greeted kindly and was escorted swiftly from the lobby.

Shortly after this as I stood scratching my head outside in the city smog, I was hand-delivered a note from Queen Bea's assistant simply saying 'Thank you for your inquiries, how very dare you, I'll show you the battle of your nightmares."

A cacophony of buzzing filled the air. The sun went dark as it was overshadowed by terrifying-looking black and yellow creatures that looked very little like the cute fuzzy bumbus I knew of. For one, they were bigger. And meaner, and did I mention bigger?! These were murder bumbuses. Or rather, these were the Vespus Workers - the soldiers of Queen Bea tasked with protecting her. A legend in their own right, and maybe more so because nobody had actually had the gall to threaten the queen before me. I may need your help with this goof of mine. Follow the Centropolis Urban Legendary Track that I've put in the Cash Shop to defeat the swarm with me!

Vetan Wilds Legendary Track will retire on June 1.
