AAAHHHH I LOVE YOU SUBETA THIS IS BEAUTIFUL.

I was almost literally raised on Phantom of the Opera... I'm really glad the artist took more from the original novel and film than from the newer movie - the movie is entertaining, but just not as good. Plus the novel is closer to the true story (probably as close as anything). I'm just so excited to see all the items in this, oh my god.... I'll never be able to afford it but at least I can dream c:

It was also recently an anniversary of Webber/Phantom's, though I can't recall what exactly

But: I love that this has bits of the novels, movies, and stage adaptations, I love that it's FREAKING HUGE! which is just amazing, and I love how everything is broken down into parts for layering possibilities and such. Pretty flipping sweet overall, even though the actual trunk doesn't just scream 'buy me right now' to me, though few actually do.

Does anyone else think this could have to do with the fact that Andrew Lloyd Weber's sequel to Phantom ("Love Never Dies") just opened in West End? (Although the trunk is (obviously) based more off of the novel?)

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Guys, in case you're wondering; this is mostly based off the silent film version of Phantom of the Opera which was based on the novel moreso than many of the PotO films that came after it(which were based on the musical). In it there is a scene where Erik masquerades as the Red Death from Edgar Allen Poe's "Masque of the Red Death" in a masquerade scene. It also has a scene with two switches, a grasshopper and a scorpion and I forgot but one activates a trap or blows up the whole opera or something like that. Though there are some more typical Phantom of the Opera things there like the half mask.
