Eeeeee, congrats Jen! Mip is one of my favorite pets on Subeta, I'm so glad to see him win! n__n Such a cutie. ♥
And honestly, it isn't the design or the artwork that makes him so great: it's his whole concept. If I stumbled across that wolf design on DA somewhere, I'd probably shrug and move on and never think of it again. It's Mip as a whole that makes him lovable, not the colors a talented artist gave him. :|

It's all about creativity, It does not matter if you did not code it or did the overlay because really. Not everyone can do that. Not everyone can code or design a overlay and not everyone can code a layout. So those people who can't do that is left out. But this is mainly around the creativity of the pet. How the person can up with it.

That's what I think. Lol. Hope that helps.

I stumbled my way onto Mip's page yesterday and was thinking how absolutely adorable it was. Congrats. Very nice work.

I can only answer in regards to what youâ€™ve said about me, not your last question. I bought the markings design off the lovely Keshi in -this form- (I hope I do this right!) Itâ€™s a wolf and I had permission to change things like species to make it my own.

I made Mip a dog and gave him butterflies in his â€˜designâ€™. I called him Mip and built him up from that. Iâ€™d like to think thatâ€™s what makes Mip what he is as much as his blue colouring and swirls. So I think that makes the concept mine.

I made the graphics for the profile, I coded the profile, I collected/commissioned the art, I put together his treasure chest, I put together his (short) story which is as much as I feel comfortable sharing at the moment. I am completely indebted to the artists credited on Mipâ€™s profile for absolutely capturing what I had envisioned of Mip and was unable to do myself. Man I wish I had even a tenth of the artistic ability they have in their little fingers, but Iâ€™m sadly lacking

The overlay is gorgeous. This is what a Chibi Ruffie should really look like, not that cartoon drawing mock up. Why is that so different to the "real" Ruffie?!

I know it's been discussed previously that overlayed pets are completely fine because their design and concept is down to their real owner - in this case, even the pet's design is attributed to someone else. I'm in agreement that this profile is completely gorgeous, and that the art is lovely - but if you boil it down to the user's personal imput, isn't it just the pet's (short) story, and treasure chest? I'm not clear where the line is drawn on this. If a friend coded, drew all the art and overlay for, and created the story for my pet, but I had put some relevant items in the treasure chest, would this still be a permitted winner?
