On December 15th starting at around noon EST, we will begin clearing pet names and account names that have been inactive. Frozen accounts inactive for 10 months will be cleared, and non-frozen accounts inactive for a year, will be cleared.

Good luck on getting the pet/account name that you're after!

I know someone... a friend of mine... who quit over a year ago. She has two pets with names I want. I'm armed with a Pet Slot Totem and Identity Star Shuriken for that day, because I know those two names are getting cleared, and I wants them ._.; .

FOR THAT DAY IS MY BIRTHDAY, AND I SHALL GET THOSE NAMES AS MY BIRTHDAY PRESENTS TO MYSELF. :3 ... Yeah. That's 9:00 my time, so I plan to wake up extra-early to make sure I'm all set.

Not true! I took a full year Hiatus (I got bored, and needed a break), and believe me, time flies. I had hardly even realized I'd been gone that long when it hit me that I should come back to delete my cult and participate in Morostide. Some of my friends have had similar hiatuses to mine and most of them have returned so far.

Of course, I also already knew about account clearing, so I was careful to prevent myself from losing my account by planning to come back before a certain date, at least for a visit.

So, your nice sweeping statement that ALL people who are gone for a year are alienated from the site is unfortunately overblown, to put it mildly. ...And yes, I have spent money on the CS, just not for a long, long time.

Of course money isn't the whole point. I think ANY rule-abiding player who'd come back hoping to enjoy Subeta after a year-long sabbatical would be disappointed to find his/her account cleared. And if that person did indeed spend money, it would most likely exacerbate things.

A year may seem like an eternity to some, but considering the site has been around five years, it really isn't. As many others have attested to, long absences DO happen.

"If their precious cash shop investment in pixels were so important they would be here playing with them. Simple as that." Heaven forbid someone has multiple interests and multiple priorities and possibly multiple other time commitments... Spare me.

Please do not put words in my mouth. I never warned others against spending money in the cash shop. The cash shop allows easy attainability to several fun items that enhance the Subeta experience, as well as help fund the site. I think it's a great feature. What I AM saying is very closely aligned to your warning: Simply that some part-time players who would otherwise donate to the cash shop, upon realizing the true transitory nature of their accounts, might not. And those who dedicated tons of time to Subeta, only to have their accounts cleared, might also stop. I was stating a likely thought process of one whose account was cleared; NOT telling regular players not to shop.

And money is part of it, because in the end, it is a business decision, because there are customers to take into consideration. But on the other side of things... It's Subeta's site and they have the right to do whatever they want. And I'm sure the team thought this through because there actually are several benefits to doing this, many of which are becoming very clear. I just like being chatty.

That being said, this is all I feel I need to say on the topic here, but feel free to take this to mail if you wish.

And Mittens, I believe it's the Identity Star Shuriken, but I've never needed one, so double check to be sure.

I was just expressing my opinion that I think a year is an awfully short time to possibly alienate users who have spent money on the site and it would STRONGLY discourage them from doing so in the future. I know this turn of events is making me think twice about it now as well. Just my two cents. But as I said before, I'm excited for those who are excited about new names. Take the good with the bad I suppose.

Money has nothing to do with it. That's the point.

If their precious cash shop investment in pixels were so important they would be here playing with them. Simple as that.

And a year is a short time? Are you kidding? They have already alienated themselves from the site at that point. The fact that they may have purchased even a 50 point item is irrelevant. If that's your reason to strongly suggest that others don't buy from the cash shop then your logic is flawed. Maybe you should warn friends against spending if they don't really play regularly or may abandon their account.

And in the last years I spent a considerable amount in the cash shop (at least for me). Perhaps the allowed period of inactivity should be extended at least for people who bought something in the cash shop...
