But with that little comment out of the way, I can say this. I really like the designs on it - my version was missing prettiness. But the long cloak... it looks like you tried too hard to cram it into the canvas. Sometimes you guys do this with pets, and it irks me - the bottom is flat! FLAT! I think you should've sacrificed pretty-flowy-cloak-length just to keep it from looking so boxed in. Also, you totally downgraded his claws and horns. I guess I can understand it on the head since they did take a little away from his ghostly-ness, but why the claws? This sucker was supposed to be FEROCIOUS. He was going to CLAW YOUR EYES OUT IN HIS SLEEP. Now he just looks like he's growling awkwardly. But y'alls did do a great job on the shading (that was not my forte at my time on Subeta) and I also love his teeth. Very good. I know all my stuff will be redrawn sooner or later, but I just wish you would've kept more spiky-angry instead of trying to make him long and pretty and elegant. But seriously... I hate how he's so boxed in. That just ruins it for me.

yes i do think the cartoon version is how it should be but for hydrus it makes it a strong chracter, but they shouldn't of removed the trademark ghostly cross on its forehead

He is cute.Not like others Hydrus pets.And it's bad,becouse ghostly is supposed to be creepy one. But still cool.

I agree: I'm kinda disappointed by this revamp. While it looks better shade/color wise, everything else seems wrong. The ghostly's have always been these big-headed, cartoony ghosts with a lot of emotion/character in them (despite the fact that they have no eyes.) The old Ghostly conveyed that... This one...

Heads too small
It's "dead" in the face. (No pun intended)
It looks like it's trying to hard to look mean.
Its horns, claws and spikes got neutered and downsized. (BOO! HISS!)
And I kinda miss the gems/orbs on the back of its hands/shoulders.

I understand subeta wanting to mature a bit with its pet species but with pets that have always meant to be cartoony in design/immature in nature, they should try to preserve that when revamping.

I unfortunately prefer the older one, the older one had a lot more viciousness about it- something which the newer Hydrus pets seem to be lacking.

I really the other Hydrus Ghostly one because I loved the artist. It is not that I do not love this one too it just does not suit the personality I have in mind for Dennis. So I used a chibi potion on it. However do not take it as criticism. This one is very awesome. I especially like the detail in the gown or whatever the thing is that Ghostlie's wear. I also like the teethies.

i also liked the old one because of its simpleness. i had the old hydrus ghostly before the hydrus kerubi revamp (then i fell in love with the kerubi). this new ghostly looks a bit cluttered to me, but the shades are very nice. i think i just have to get used to it

I loved the old one and I don't think it was THAT deserving of a revamp, but this is really cool looking. I might actually get one.

Oh, lovely. Drawn so well, artists! I especially love how the edges of his cloak are somewhat green; it looks as if it's turning into seaweed or something of the sort.

This was the first color release I saw on the news after I joined Subeta, so maybe the old version just has a special place in my heart. &;

I disagree that the head is disproportionate to the bodyâ€¦ if you look at it the body is the same height as the old one- the flowing capey part in the back is longer; making him/her/it look bigger. great job with the detailing! Way to go (again) subeta artists!!!! wahoooooo!

Meh :c Still like the old one, while it is a style improvement the head kinda got smashed and shrunk around in the process (I feel like Im looking at a half harvester, half ghostly tbh ^^' ) Minus the green though, I do like the patterns+colors =]
