Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for bearing with us as we work to perfect this latest upgrade to the site. I know that initially it seemed like it was causing more problems than it fixed, but I promise you in the end it'll all be worth it.
To reduce the number of problems happening while we transition to this new system, we'll be scaling back on the queries that we send to the slave server, and Keith and I will be selectively picking queries that can run on the slave, rather than splitting all of them. This will solve problems that occur randomly due to timing issues, like the wizard giving out quests with insane time limits (unfortunately, that is a bug, and not just the wizard going senile).
That said, there will be some downtime (probably 15 minutes worth) tonight at midnight, Subeta time, to synchronize database servers.

Thank you for the warning, it was a real saver for me. But, I've come across a few problem. At about 5:40 subeta gave me a list of at least 6 different problems. It then closed itself down and I wasn't able to get on until about now. So I've come to the conclusion that trying to search shops is a bad thing for me at the moment.
