To everyone saying that this is inappropriate and may scar children on the site: Please. I joined when I was twelve. I already knew all about drugs, sex, hookers, swearing, crime, death, gore, etc. etc. freakin' etc. This site didn't influence me or raise any awkward questions with my parents. In fact, quite the opposite. It taught me what a sextant was and what a USB port looked like, and those are just a few of the things I learned.

You can get that woozy feeling without it being illegal. It's that you're breathing in the smoke, which is replacing some of the oxygen you intake as you inhale from the hose. So because of the lower oxygen, you relax and get that slightly light-headed feeling, which goes away the second you breathe in normally again.

Subeta states that users either need to be 13 or have parent's permission. It's clearly a PG-13 site, and I've seen many PG-13 movies with smoking references and in some cases blatantly showing people smoking.

That said... I LOVE THESE. Nice work, artists, both the item and its wearable layer are wonderful. Now I'm just going to have to stalk Home Appliances or hope for the user shop prices to go down by a bit...

Um, have you seen the Alcohol? It's illegal to persons under 21 in the US, but yet it's an item. Just b/c something is "illegal" to some in RL, that doesn't mean Subeta should only cater to them. I happen to quite like the new hookas. The are fabulous! xD

I know =], and I think alcohol is fantastic. But the problem is a lot of kids under 18 and under 21 for each respectful category still do this stuff because its so widely popularized. I dont think someone heres gonna go 'oh hey I never knew about hookas I should go try one', but it is kinda further glorification of it, you get what I mean? I just think theres too many stupid kids on the internet who will think because somethings made by a site its an awesome thing to do underage.

i want to make it clear that i love this site...ok?...and i understand that hookahs are not necessarily for anything illegal unless people do use it for that purpose...but me personally not wanna use my hard earned subeta points on a stoned looking hookah and was wondering if it could be optional the face look is all...or have ones that are non-stoned looking options...that all ...thanks for listening

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

very pretty and i like the look of them and the smokey rainbow cloud it gives off that i seen on some of them i seen...however does it have to have the stoned look on them?...can that be like an option to have or not?...i know i am such a downer...but seriously i love the artistic qualities of it...i do not like the stoned look of it...i am very very very much again illegal drugs and even drinking too much...i seen what it does to people...even prescription drugs when not taken as prescribed by a doctor can be dangerous...so yeah...if the high/stoned look was taken away from the item then it would be perfect ...when i see all the previews of them then i will see if i will save up points for one 'cause i want one without a stoned look but with the pretty rainbow cloud and lamp thingie

These comments crack me up. If you dont like them, dont get them.. more for us who do like them. As for this being a kid safe site or whatever.. PLEASE its not Keiths job to make this a fluffy neopets site. ITS THE PARENTS JOB to raise their children. As a parent I always check out and play a site for a few weeks before I allow my daughter to. Adults also wish to find these kinds of sites to play on, and enjoy the freedom of creating HAs with humour.
So Keith keep it up, there are plenty of safe sites for the younger kids to play on, allow us to be us.. this site IS very very safe.. you have done very well making it as such.. dont change a thing.

Yes, I recall seeing that. I was only saying as far as this 'debate' goes tht limiting the access to the site to only 13 and up may get the nay-sayers off your back.

My site is based on EA Games Sims 2. It is PG-13 based and no one under 13 is allowed to register, even with parental consent.

I am not complaining at all. I enjoy the site a lot. I just wasn't aware of the adult material until I stumbled across it. I thought it was more because of the forum, which my 8 year old doesn't really have an interest in.

Since I have discovered the potentially non-child friendly items, I just sit with him and direct his path. He has really enjoyed reading to his pet and learning to battle.

Thanks for a fun site, it has been something nice for my son and I to share together.

Ahem -steps up on soap box- Do you people not realize that there are hookah bars all over the place? Quit complaining and dont buy it if you dont like it.

Also I would like to point out something else... Wikipedia defines it as this: A hookah operates by water filtration and indirect heat. It can be used for smoking herbal fruits, tobacco, or cannabis. Typical hookah bars use the flavored tobacco as cannabis isnt legal so I say three cheers for the hookah. HOOKAH! HOOKAH! HOOKAH!

The site is PG-13, it wasn't made for little children at all. It's not supporting at all, you don't have to buy it. People do drugs, drink vodka, and all that stuff, not because Subeta made the items. Honestly.

I think you need to read the comments before you post. As has already been stated by many people, these are HOOKAHS, not BONGS. A hookah was even used (as mentioned below in a comment on this board) by the caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland. They are also used as decorative items in a home and are quite beautiful. I also took a trip to London last August and my hotel was near an Arabian/Muslim area and people were sitting at tables outside the cafes using hookahs in plain sight. There's nothing illegal about what is put in them. To ASSUME is to make an ASS out of you and ME...ever heard the saying?
