Some pets just don't need any help keeping warm in the winter. As this chibi devonti models its luxurious coat, one can't help being slightly envious.
What would the point be of a "heads-up" that a special color was going to be revamped? All that would happen would be people whining and moaning that "Omg, they're gonna change and ruin my favorite pet, nooooo."
And then when the revamp was actually released, there would be a flood of "Oh, I'm so relieved, it's great" and "Omg, it's just as bad as I feared -- /wrist."
I loved the old Chibi Devonti, and I like the new Chibi Devonti. 
Ahh, if only I had enough money to buy more pet slots...! Some day, some day...

I actually liked the old one better, the color/shading was so soft and pretty... but the new one is very nice too, good to see it hasn't been changed much. Overall both of them are very good, in my opinion.

Just one small note, if you make a change to a pet, take a poll. I know, it's a lot of work, but think about how people feel who own a pet of the type/coloration that's going to be changed.

That is the only heads up you will be getting about upcoming pet revamps. We are never going to poll them. We will never make a news or forum post warning you about it. "
We are aware someone will always complain about a revamp no matter what we do. Announcing upcoming revamps in the news is something we never plan on doing.
Daiya: Thank you for understanding. I've noticed that quite a few people have said that they never liked devontis before yet they now like this particular one because of how it looks now. Either that or they're saying that only now that it got revamped will they even think about getting one.

It'll be like saying, "Hi guys. Heads up to all of you because such and such a species and color combination is going to be changed to its new look." There's still going to be a surprise of how it looks, but you'll also be giving a warning to all those it would affect. People who make video games always have previews to share before the actual video game comes out. It would be like that but for pet revamps.
To everyone else: Some people have said that the staff only makes polls for when the entire species is going to change. When you say "entire species", shouldn't that include the special colors as well?
The only revamps that get polls that users can vote on are the more basic colors. They all use the same pose it's just in different color schemes. That, to me at least, seems more like one pet and color combination getting changed. Getting a pet to look like the basic color of its species is a lot easier and cheaper than getting the right potion for the special colors. All that work to get a Reborn or Spectrum potion etc and none of you are going to worry about those color and species combinations getting changed at all?
To Arbor: This is such a great revamp! Parasol looks absolutely adorable, both before and now. This couldn't have been better. Sorry if that didn't come across before.
Another of my favourite pets' look has been destroyed. Great!

I'm perfectly happy getting surprise pet revamps, as most of them are really awesome, so it's like getting a present without it being Christmas

Why did this surprise you so much? When have they EVER made a poll about a single pet revamp? Polls are only made when an entire species is being revamped - it would be silly and take way, WAY to much time for them to make a revamp poll every single time they revamp a colored pet, considering ones revamped like, every two days now.
I can understand a poll for an entire species, but not one pet. The poor artists are already riddled with enough responisibility then to make every single pet meet everyone's standerds.
Anyways, kudos to the artist. I'm not a fan of the devonti, but this art's amazin' anyways ;3

Yeah, they don't poll small revamps like these. It would indeed be too tiresome to see a poll for every individual pet that needed revamping anyway.
But I agree it says a LOT if actual owners of the pet dislike the revamp, especially if it's bad enough to make them change it into something else. It's a good thing you like this one, though - I absolutely hated, HATED the hydrus ontra revamp. Within 10 minutes, my ontra became a montre. Funny thing is, most of those people saying, "OMG, this revamp is wonderful!" didn't even have an ontra, let alone a hydrus one.

Just a note to everybody who doesn't like the revamps, minionmatch.com has the old pet pictures (under "Revamps") and it's pretty easy to replace the default pet picture with a different one (just look for help with "overlays" in the pet profiles forum or sMail someone who knows how to do it, I'm sure they'll be happy to help.)
THIS is the way all redraws should go! still extremely similar to the old version just better and cleaner! kudos to this artist!!!
The update is almost exactly like the old one, with better art. God you all complain about everything. We have never, EVER, had a poll on revamps since Subeta started doing them. And we never will. Because even if we get a poll, people will still complain. So leave it or love it. Just change your pets if you don't like the update.

I'm not complaining about the revamp itself. I love the revamp. It couldn't have been done any better. But there's always that chance that it could have been done poorly.
I remember when someone revamped the Dark Matter Demi. The pose was completely different and the shading in my opinion is still a little weird. The old look had the dark matter demi looking sleek and mysterious. Now it looks so much chubbier. I actually changed my dark matter demi into something else because I couldn't stand the way it looked.
I'm not complaining about this revamp and I'm not trying to insult anyone, I just wish that the staff would give the users at least a heads up about any revamp. Even if we don't get to vote on it, it would still be nice to know if someone is going to change the look of our pets.
