It specifically says what is my name, not who or what am I. The Oracle isn't a name; it's a title. Lantern Ghoul and Brokenhearted Kitty also aren't names. Mori Nori is two names. The plushie is too many words. And we won't even get into Spectrum microwave... XD Although, I can almost see the point of those who had assumed it to be another trick question and put Debi Lee. XD

I guessed "a guy" because he is on fire, he's warm, he's holding something in both of his hands, a match on fire and what looks to be the explosive, and or, fire works stick. I thought that he had to be the answer. Oh well, I shall try again next time.

I looked at Jack, and immediately thought he was the correct answer. I did look around at other characters in case I found one that fit better, but I didn't. Skelly is a close 2nd, in that he is holding an object with both hands, but its glowing blue, which to my mind implies cold, not heat. Of course that's a value judgement, and the question could have been worded more definitely.

I understood it as 'making me warm' because he is holding a sun potion. Sun provides warmth.

...And now that I go and read through the comments, there are certainly more then two Glowy-holdy NPCs... Jaxon, Mori/Nori, Elwood...

I think we needed a little more clarity here. 'Making me warm' doesn't translate as 'the color of the glow is red, orange, or yellow' in my opinion. I can kinda see that that's what it's supposed to be, but the clue isn't obvious enough that very many players could pick up on it, from what I can tell. I certainly didn't.

i put jack cardale when i thought about the gypsies new gifts recently. he's been holding that sun potion since they first came onto the scene when subeta had that eclipse. gatekeeper, nori and oracle hold something in one hand or in nori's case, something hovering.

I feel this was a badly-chosen trivia. There are zillions of glowing animals/people/characters on the site and many of them are holding something. Even barring items there are still at least two NPCs glowing and holding--Cardale being one, the Oracle being the other.

Obviously I was one of the people who answered Oracle... but I still feel I have a valid argument when I say this trivia was too vaguely-worded on a site where half the images seem to contain a glow of some sort.

As soon as I saw the image from the SAI, I knew that was the answer. I wasn't 100% sure of his name, but I just right clicked to get the image name, and there it was jackcardale_sp.gif.

I don't see potions as being hot. If it was burning hot, he wouldn't have been able to hold it to begin with I imagine.
I just assumed that the potion was glowing because it was special, like a lot of glowing items on the site, not because it was emitting heat. Shrug

I know Ghoul wasn't the perfect answer since it only had one hand it was holding something with, but there's been typos/mistakes/lesser parts of the trivia to ignore so I just assumed the use of "hands" was one of those. I can understand why I'm wrong and I can see where Cardale was the right choice, but I still don't feel the question was well worded.

Another link for those of you who didn't know Jack Cardale's name would be www.minionmatch.com They have pictures of all the NPCs and battle opponents with their names in one handy location. That's where I found the answer.

Darn it. After literally more then an hour of searching I came across the Lantern Ghoul and figured that had to be it. Its doomed to hold that lantern until eternity and its obviously glowing. Sigh
I even looked at Cardale and dismissed it since I wouldn't think the glow from the potion was making him hot, it just looks like a normal everyday glow to me where as the light from the lantern is fire and would indeed make the Ghoul hot.

I have learned a lot about subeta by searching for the answers to the trivia. Even when I've gotten them wrong, and I've looked to find out how I got them wrong, I learned something. I like that we learn new things about the site through the trivia. xD

They do list the subeta characters on wikibeta, but Jack Cardale isn't listed there. I don't know why.

I don't think anyone 'expects' newbies to know the NPC (or what his name is). That's why it's a -Trivia-... because it's not something -everyone- knows. It's supposed to have some challenge to it. If it didn't, then that wouldn't constitute giving away nice items with it, now would it?

And, so you know, 'Wikibeta' (Run by Mbif, go to her profile for a link), has a listing of all the NPCs and stuff about them ^^ (Though, the list is a bit incomplete, I'm sure it'll get more filled as time goes by).

That's not exactly fair to say. I've been on a little while and I knew who he was. There are fansites out there with background info on the characters. It's up to you to find out about these things I think.

I checked the URL of the image of the SAI npc and discovered his name there Was a total guess... I didn't even know if it was a Subeta-related question...
