Since when is Subeta up again - it said 2 days!? I only popped in by chance!

lol, who would ever use the scientiffic name and how are we then supposed to know, which one is more generally accepted? This will be one of the more debatable Trivias again, I guess

Ugh, confusing. I know the answer but figuring out which answer to put exactly isn't quite as easy. x_X

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Tipawhee
User Avatar

Either that or if it wasn't for the 'generally used/accepted' part of it. The two parts together completely confuse me and the '
"more generally used" modifies scientific name' doesn't help one iota.

Lol I bet if it weren't for the scientific name thing, lots of people would think this one was much easier

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I am sorry, but this trivia sucks. I was ok, until I read this by Debilee: ""more generally used" modifies scientific name" Now I am all confused.

I knew what it was asking for immediately..but the hard part is figuring out which scientific name it is, and how many words are required..lol oh well I'll suck it up and make an educated guess.

Imma goning to take a stab at this one and buy the prize if I get it wrong

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Childstar

Just talking here.. plants can have different family species and varieties, like a red or yellow rose.. and they both could have different names depending of what type of yellow/red rose.. like a tea rose or a climbing rose.. then it breaks them down into small small little families.. make since? And then we have common names which in different areas are also different.. and that brings us back to why plants have a scientific SPECIFIC name.. all the way to the varieties.. which is why there could be 3 names.. well 3 'things'. ( or two, or one lol)
this is the same with animals, insects etc,
Science is fun.. there are bored MAD scientific who sit around and do this to just make ones head POP! ( and when it does they name those parts too! LOL)
This answer depends on how sciency subie would like us to get.. or not... could be common name and I am wrong fully.. BAH!!

now to check out the new trivia

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

ah i figured out what the question means i'm pretty sure
i actually made it harder and wider by trying to narrow it xDD

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Childstar
User Avatar

Its okay, its just the 'generally used', that gets me.. the reason behind scientific names is so it narrows it way way now to the variety of ,a lets say item.. and it so can be used in all areas of the world... the common name I am thinking of is just too general for a FULL scientific name
or I am making this too hard.. its the OWL trivia flashback! lol
AND I might be over thinking this too.. shurg Shutting up cause I am worried I am saying to much.. please if you can Debi let us know one or two words?

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Princess_Ashura
User Avatar

hehe, I found it and I put the full scientific name....the question says lengthy so I assumed it would want a longer name so I put both.....hopefully I'll get it right XP...we shall see.
