How does a species of Peruvian owl need clarification? How does "artic" versus "arctic" need clarification? I could go on, but I'm not interested. The answer should be such-and-such, but is it so wrong to want to make sure the question writer had such-and-such in mind? You can't take it for granted.

And it's beyond rude to say that someone has "poor reading comprehension skills" because they've been tripped up by awkward trivia answers in the past and want to know that they're submitting the right format this time.

And as for spoon-feeding... the people who want clarification have found the answer, they don't need it fed to them. They just want to know that they're typing it exactly as the trivia demands.

There's nothing wrong with the trivia. You can't blame Debi (or whoever submitted the question) for people's poor reading comprehension skills. The question is asking for an aroma, so obviously the answer is going to be said aroma. How does that need clarification?

um...aren't we supposed to be "having fun"? if you people have the time to go back and forth like this, i guess you have the time to read the question, and write the answer. this is a game, and a free one at that. i think they are doing a great job. so stop complaining and go have fun!

Honestly, I don't see how format is such an issue on this one. If you really have found the answer, just one look at it should tell you what the "simplest possible answer" is. Any more than that and it would be literally redundant.

I changed the Trivia because there were 1500 answers, so it was beyond changeable time-wise. Only 500 of them might have been correct, but there were still 1500 nonetheless. Also, as I had said before, no format notation was necessary for this one; it's an aroma, the question is just asking which one it is.

HighlandLass, I have to disagree with you that this question needs any clarification on how to format the answer. The question is asking for an aroma, and Debi always says to use the simplest answer possible. It doesn't get any easier than that, I don't see how else it can be clarified. You can't expect to be spoon fed the trivia, especially considering how easy the question already is.

Am I seriously the only one who does not know this answer? Seriously? I find the hard ones...I win the trivia questions that everyone complains about. But this one. Stumped. Granted, I am being a little lazy with my searching, but still...thank goodness I don't need this prize. I feel like such a dolt.

First off...Boa, I completely agree with you and your sentiments of how the site is a thorough mess and yet the staff seem to be going about business as if we all had fair and equal access at this point(BTW I got the question right so this isn't sour grapes). Some people have had very little to no problem getting onto Subeta and navigating freely while others have been locked out of the site for long stretches of time, so it really is rude at best to say that everyone had an equal chance at the last one. Next up, I too feel that this new one needs clarification...how many words are we supposed to use to completely and accurately answer this one? Why is there never a clarification on the ones that need them most? Which brings me to my last point...I just know that by the time DebiLee comes back and gives some format clarification(if she even does and no i will not mail her on something that should be posted for everyone to see)the site will most likely be freaking out again and I won't have a chance to enter my answer before a new one is put up. Sure, I could guess, but that is just silly when so many apparently feel this needs format addressed. This has become frustrating to say the least.

The answer is uber-easy to find, but we definatley need clarification on how many words the answer is. Though it did just ask for the SCENT, I suppose it would be just the one word?

the problem there is that I didn't know it hadn't submitted. I popped the answer it, hit send and blithely went on my way. Trouble is, I was doing several other things at the same time, multiple pages open and must have missed this one going into a white page or something. It's not the end of the world, thankfully, just a little frustrating when I know i got it right.

Yeah, same thoughts like Crysti!
I mean, i'm from same timezone like Boa, but i was able to sit in front of my computer 12 hours per day, cause i had nothing to do! And i was able to play around 3 out of 12 hours, rest of time was downtime. That is not much, especially if you have not the patient to refresh all 10 seconds just for playing 5 minutes. I mean, nobody want to blame anyone for this situation but the side is mostly running while we are sleeping, cause thats the time where the admins comes back from work or school or whatever and try to fix the game.
