It's pig day- hooray!

The Toy Box and Minions Market have released a bunch of cute little piggy goodies to celebrate, and you can even get a festive balloon at the Free Gift! :)

We couldn't possibly do all of the Saints, but that one day is evidently quite important in Wales.

I can see where your all coming from, all im trying to get across really is that id love some welsh items ;P seriously. a wearable sheep would frickin' rock But yeah... xD I know its impossible to celebrate every holiday, but wales only has two anyway :/ and i bet you all know that v.day is a big rip off of santes dwynwen day x3 long story behind that, its basically a welsh v.day and it was created like 200 years before v.day or something o.o i dont know xD BUT ANYWAY. like i said before, theres always next year =D

Can we do Saints? I mean.. I know I'd be a bit.. Peeved that we're celebrating a day for a Religion I don't celebrate. We blanket most Major holidays {Xmas, Haunnukuh, Ect.} But.. A day for saints? No.. I don't like it..

mr. keith sir..about saints..you know, st. francis completely and totally rocks..you should release statues of him, you know, like they do for gardens..and little groups of birds & such..on his saint day. not every saint,i know but..how cool would that be,speaking of saints (and im not even catholic or anything. but..st. francis is just wonderful.)

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Lets face it people, we cannot conceivably celebrate every holiday that exists in the universe as its jut not possible. Just enjoy the items and the special day.

I've always said, just mail me two or three weeks ahead of time, and I'll try to get in a related Trivia and prize at least. We're just not aware of a lot of the holidays. Also, since this is an American site, we celebrate Mother's Day in May, which is when it is here.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

That's great, Keith! At least many items will be sold out while many become retired and returned for the holidays and saints. I give credit to all the great staff of Subeta for all they're doing so far especially for always making these new items. Great Job Guys!

I'm sure that you're aware that every saint has a day (and how many saints are there? ). We try to get to everything, but it's just not possible.

Funnily enough, I'd consider Australia Day pretty obscure, and it's the country I myself live in, DaringSpirit. Most people in most other countries wouldn't know Australia Day even exists, no matter how huge the celebration for it is, in Australia.

We've been trying to recognise more and more holidays, but I'm pretty sure we're going to miss the vast majority of them from one year to the next. Especially the ones that border on being held around the same time as other holidays Subeta's been celebrating on a reasonably large scale for a few years now; eg: Valentines Day, Easter, etc.

I'm pretty sure that there's probably at least one holiday for each and every day of the year, and only a handful of artists/item-adding admins to try and scramble to celebrate a few of them when we realise they're coming up.

I'm surprised that you would consider a country's national day 'obscure' but there we go.

National Pig Day is a really, REALLY random little holiday that a friend told me about. I thought it sounded really cute, and would be fun to whip up a few cutesy little pig items for it, so I asked the rest of the CD for a bit of help with it.

If we missed the Welsh holiday someone mentioned, it wasn't on freaking purpose. :/ If a friend hadn't told me about Pig Day just in general conversation, I wouldn't have even known it existed. There are that many obscure holidays out there that of course we're going to miss 2948402304 of them. Especially if we don't even know they exist. :/

St David's Day could be celebrated with daffodils, leeks, the Welsh flag and, of course, the Welsh national costume.

I actually commented one of the staff last week requesting St David's Day items. Considering how quickly the Heath Ledger stuff hit the site, I didn't think it would be beyond the realm of possibility to get something - no matter how small - to at least acknowledge St David's Day. Guess I was wrong.

http://www.sucs.swan.ac.uk/~rhys/stdavid.html and http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/en/275/

Then again, nothing is done for St George's day either.

Did you know that every day is now a holiday, in some sense of the word?

It might be as simple as "Tide Do All Your Laundry Day" or "International Frog-gigging Day"... or it might be, you know, Christmas.

But everyday is a holiday.

So celebrating all of them would be a nightmare.

slushie, might I also just said that celebrating every holidays would be a pin too, I mean won't we be nearly each day of the year in celebration then? Ok it might be exaggerated but still. Tough that I agree that pig day is a bit odd to celebrate when you see other nice holidays missed. None the less I love those items!

Nobody has answered the question What is Pig Day?????

I'm dying to know. And for Saint David's Day (for lack of a better term) how would we celebrate? What kind of items would mean St David's Day for you?

And I just gotta say - there are like a million saints and they all have a day. I'm sure staff can't celebrate EVERY holiday in the world. They do try and that is commendable.

I'm having pork chops for supper so somebody please What is Pig Day? (Never heard of either day, lol!)

Ops i was wrong

In 2006 Saint David's Day was officially celebrated on 28 February by Roman Catholics and on 2 March by the Anglican Church in Wales, because March 1, 2006 was Ash Wednesday, which is a day of penitence on which feast days are not celebrated

St Davids day was yesterday actually.

The date of March 1st was chosen in remembrance of the death of Saint David on that day in 589, and has been celebrated by followers since then. The date was declared a national day of celebration within Wales in the 18th century.

Today is Mothers day.
