With all due respect, I beg to differ. You have control over /which/ sets to choose to release; there's nothing and nobody telling you that you HAVE to release inferior art. On any given day, there could be 20-30 sets of incredibly-drawn items that could be tossed into a shop that really needs it. The chalices in this post are an excellent example of what you kind find in the directory. Not to mention, by releasing the inferior items you're simply creating more work for the artists. It has been an ongoing project to purge art that doesn't fit Subeta's "style" from the site and replace it with the very best of what our artists can produce. By adding items that aren't as nicely drawn, the artist then has to go back and redraw and reupload the items you released, which in turn makes Subeta look a little inconsistent. You personally have full control over which items you do add. I'm sure DNA wouldn't mind if you asked her that an item be redrawn or more items for certain shops be produced, if the shop is lacking that considerably. In your position as an item adder, I personally feel like your relationship with the art department should be close so as to keep Subeta consistent, artwise.

Items were released because Keith specifically said to release the things that have been sitting in the Artists' Directories. Unfortunately, I have no say in quality, etc., as I'm an items adder; I can't request redraws or delete items. The artists are always free to request deletion of anything in their directories, however, in which case I would be able to delete them. They are also free to redraw and re upload, if they don't want items released as is, but these were only a few months old. The Graveyard Shop needs items too, but it's rarely drawn for.

Why are we getting new items that were obviously made for Halloween when it's almost March? :/

DaringSpirit, I recognize a lot of the "new" items as actually being very old. That is to say, the artists drew them 6 months to a year ago.

Ideally, items by an artist are released very close to when they're finished and uploaded. But sometimes, things get overlooked, or the artists upload so much close together that eventually there's a backlog of several hundreds of items that need to be released from months ago.

I think Subeta's just making a movement to get more of that older stuff released now, without really checking to see if it fits in with Subeta's obvious upgrade in item quality. Personally, I would have just deleted some stuff instead of having to release it and revamp it later. I wouldn't be surprised if these juices were revamped shortly, to be honest.

Following on from Luxe's comments, I've noticed that a few of the new items lately don't have the same quality as usual. I guessed they were maybe new artists who had to get into the groove.

deadheartsbeat, I used to be hagane's boss until four months ago, something that I'm only telling you because it's relevant, not to brag. I think more than anyone, I probably understand that it's not easy for any of Subeta's artists to find motivation to give it their best all the time.

My point was that Subeta doesn't have to release work that's not their best just because the artist drew it.

The main thing that bugs me is that the cups are not symetricl, they're lop-sided o-o;; The aura is also non-transparent, like Luxe said.

You have to understand that drawing for a pet site has to be hard, you aren't going to get the best out of someone all the time...

Yeah, I don't normally get involved in item quality discussions, but those juices are really not Hagane's best work, I'm sad to say. I'm really shocked they were released, to be honest. They're somewhat flat, the aura has no transparency whatsoever, leaving a gap in the cup's lineart, the cups are crooked...

Try looking up the Cherry Gummyrats, Luck Charm, Drama Llama, Rats Nest to name just a few.

I'm disappointed. Lindsey is capable of much better work than this, and I'm sure she knows it. I hope she gets her mojo back soon.

Individual News posts are NOT spam; Keith and I even used to almost have News posting contests with each other. XD It's called organization; this way we can tell which comments go with which items, instead of having Who drew that? Drew... which? issues, etc. Besides, site users generally tend to favor the multiple News posts format.

o_0 Lots of new items... First ruby slippers and brooms, then the gooey remains of melted wicked witches. Now we have celebratory drinks to toast the demise of said witches into gooey wearable goodness. Not to mention the cups to serve it in. Hehehe!
