We consider previous rarity (if it's known), but we also look at how many are on the site - information that, as far as I'm aware, isn't accessible to users. A rare item with maybe 90 total on site? Probably going to be less rare this time around. A rare item with considerably more on site (since it may have been around the year before, etc), may stay around a higher rarity.

Yes, I understand that they didn't know what the rarity was before they unretired it. But, now they do know. So if one item is going to stay common for more to be put into circulation, why not the other rare items unretired? Those need put into circulation too.. I just find it kind of unfair that so many items that aren't wearable are being looked at as useless while the wearables stay rare and expensive.

DJ, you're not getting the point. The rarity cut on the Lovebunny was not intentional. There is no way to know what an item rarity was before it retired. That sort of information isn't stored.

I don't see what the big deal is. It accurately reflects real life economy. Sometimes supply is up, and sometimes it's down. Subetans sometimes expect too much control over their gains and losses, and frankly, that's not how it works.

I don't think it really matters at this point what their rarity is. The Ocean depths is spitting them out like crazy. I got 5 items over R90 in less than 300 tokens. Plus a crap load more. and YAY!!!

Items that were originally r98 usually don't deflate as much as an r50 would.

Simply put, if an item's rarity is off the mark by a fair bit, just politely ask about it - it may be an honest error, or it may be something like the item being exceptionally rare, and a ridiculously small amount are in circulation, and so the rarity's been dropped a bit, etc etc.

Now that I'm looking at the rarities I see that the Magical Pirate Pantaloons of Sweet Love are now r55, makes me glad I paid in items for those but it's sad that some people paid millions for them :/

Well if you're going to slash down the rarity of one rare item.. why not slash down a couple more? I'm sure more of those need to stock. I just don't see why you'd cut one rare item's rarity in half because it needs to stock more, and not the others

And the Bunny's rarity has been increased a little bit.

As I said, we tried to keep the rarities of the items we knew. Everything was set to retired, which is a rarity number all its own, and so items we weren't familiar with often ended up with new ones--not because we were trying to shaft anyone, but because we had to make a guess as to where to put things, sometimes more educated than others.
But eh. All of this will retire again later, and lots of it needed more stock anyway.

Understood. I formed this attitude because I thought it was a permanent change. Lovebunny happened to be one of the only rare minions left on the site, at least from my observations. Aphrodite was devalued after two giveaways, but Lovebunny had manage to avoid its giveaway debut. I don't want other users to think I am responsible for the rarity plunge. But I suppose I am responsible for its rarity being irreversible. For that, I apologize to the other collectors affected by this!

Lovebunny was rarity 98. Its rarity was cut by more than half. I find that ridiculous. I can understand a drop to rarity 90 or even rarity 85..but by more than half? Part of its allure is that it's rare. Well, not any more. Apparently, only legendaries and wearables maintain their rarities. Thanks a lot.

The rarities on all of these may or may not be the same, but we tried to preserve what we knew.
Some will be more rare, some will be less.

Why was the rarity changed on Lovebunny? Love Bucket, a popular wearable, maintains its rarity status, but Lovebunny, which is basically a "useless" minion to most, has its rarity lowered. That doesn't make any sense to me. Bah, just another reason why you shouldn't hoard items. kicks hoard around
