Trivia prize was used again because the answer was mispelled in the trivia system. It was used again for .

Trivia prize was given out as a free gift because of a typo in the answer.

Trivia was the Louis L'amour one. The apostrophe glitched so no one got it "right". The prize was used again in trivia .

As far as it not being "fair"... there is no way for it to always be fair for everyone. there was a time that a trivia was put up and taken down while I was sleeping because so many people got it right in just a few hours. I would have gotten it right had I been awake, but that is how it goes sometimes. I don't get upset when that happens, it's just how it works sometimes.

Another time, I put Book of Doooooom as my answer cause that was what was on the description of the card. When the book it actually just a named "Book of Doom". So, I got it wrong. It happens sometimes.

But the trivias are so fun, I love looking for the answer. Thank you for doing them.

I haven't bothered to read through most the comments because I just don't have the time for it, but I believe the one where the prize was used as a free gift was because Debi put the answer in wrong so no one got it. The one you're thinking about must be the Louis L'amour one, that prize wasn't handed out again, though I think Debi said it would be reused later. As far as I can tell, this prize is plenty abundant for a trivia prize, enough people won it so that it isn't just going to be handed out. Reusing it might make more sense to me, but -shrugs- just saying, there are a lot in circulation already. xD

How fair would giving the prize away as a free gift be to those who have already counted their losses without complaining and bought the prize??? I also, for the life of me can't figure out why, if the prize is so "useless" all the fuss is being made over it.

I guess here's my thing: I can't remember the prize or the exact circumstances, but I believe it was a trivia with an apostrophe which glitched and everyone got it right, but they got it wrong... That prize was put offered as a free gift. In the case of this, where to guess is to risk incorrect, and seeing how this is an admittedly useless item (not wearable, not a weapon, minion, anything else worth having) why isn't it a free gift for all? Certainly, those who got it right still get credit for that right trivia answer while that useless item is just a bit more abundant... Does that make sense? I understand things happen, but I work in customer service and as often as I go out of my way to appease the disgruntled (particularly when they're right), it disturbs me to see so many of you thumbing your nose at me now.

in regards to people being upset about the trivia being taken down while the image wasnt working-i dont normally read comments to news posts. when i went to answer the trivia, the picture was already removed. if you take the time to search the site, and cant come up with the answer-just do process of elimination and it at least gives you a guess. i just dont understand why everytime there is a trivia, there is drama that comes along with it.

I'm sad I missed it but Debi's right, these things happen. when I cound't find it after about five minutes, I got impatient and didn't read the messages or anything. I even thought it could possibly be the box, but with the qlitch I couldn't see it and decided to not put it. don't know why I didn't just put it in, I was having brain malfunctions all day, but that's not Debi's (or anyone else's) fault.

I ended up buying it anyway

Actually, I did remember the mystery box had a Kora head sticking out of it, because I like Koras. I looked around for the mystery box, couldn't find it, went over to Shinwa and checked the web-addy for her image, used that to guess what the mystery boxes image was and voila: http://www.subeta.net/images/mystery_box.gif.

Nothing suspect about it, just a good memory.

Being that a huge image of it was on the actual News page, it wasn't all that unlikely to have remembered it. But, as I said, I couldn't just leave it up indefinitely.

barry there were a few hints in the comments that the answer was something that used to be there and now it had been removed so by searching subeta a little they found the glitched mystery box with no picture and knew the answer right away.

Yes, I read your post. However, I would wonder how many of that 1300 correct answers were submitted when the Mystery Box was down? I find it suspect that anyone "remembered" seeing something they didn't know to look for.

But, that's just my opinion.

Barry, did you even bother to read my post? The Trivia cannot remain up indefinitely, as too many answers can cause it to lag the site or glitch completely. I left it up as long as possible, there was no way to know that the image would be removed as well due to the glitch abuse of it, there was nothing else that could be done, really. There was an ample number of the item won, which does nothing at all, it isn't wearable, a weapon, a Minion, or anything; as I said, it was buyable.

I think it's wrong that you closed the last trivia while the Mystery Box was DOWN--I couldn't check it, couldn't see it, couldn't submit it as an answer as I couldn't honestly know it WAS the answer. Even now, that page only opens to an "oops!" screen.

"Real trivia" or not, it seems unusually unfair to me.

I couldn't remember if the box was correct or not, but I did remember that it had lots of stuff in it. And after not being able to find anything that matched the trivia question elsewhere on the sight, it was just process of elimination to figure out what it was reffering to.

I really hope I've got the answer to this next one right! That clock is awesome! And I know that this answer is correct for the question, even if it turns out to not be the one you're looking for.

A note to everyone who feels stupid from trying to solve the trivias-- You're so not alone. I look at trivias like setting the users of Subeta out into the world with shotguns. People just start shooting around in the general direction of where they think the prey is, and some hit and some don't. It's not always about knowledge or skill; sometimes it's about luck-- stumbling to the right page at the right time. Just try not to feel stupid, as I'm sure you know even the best of us has bad days. [/inspiration?]

This trivia is a little bit vague. I like the answer I put...but there is no article before it. So it's probably not the "correct" answer. :/

And some people miss Trivias or giveaways, etc., by not being on; it's just a game, things like that happen. It can't be left up indefinitely, as it lags the site, and sometimes glitches, when there are too many answers. There were over 1500 answers, almost 1300 of which were correct. Had there been a very low number of correct answers, the prize, as is always the case, would have been re-used. There weren't; the prize was even buyable at one point, since there are so many on the site. The box image was up for at least eight hours, I believe. It was an unforeseen circumstance (the removal of the image as well when the box was taken down due to glitch) that nothing could really be done about. The Trivia was left up as long as it could be waiting to see if the box would come back up; I changed it when it became obvious that the box wasn't going to be put back up this morning.

After searching around...and finding two possiblities.....I put one in and just hope it was the right one...which, it probably wasn't...it was probably the other one....sniffle and I so want this clock! I personally forgot what the image on the mystery box was before I guessed though I did look at the source image since all images are about the same and just changed it slightly. I had to take a slightly wild guess on this one.

I am extremely upset about the last trivia. To respond to Debilee's remarks - I don't care how many users got it right. The fact remains that the answer was unavailable when some of us started to look. Do only the privileged few up in the wee hours of the Subeta morning when the trivia updates have a fair chance at answering? A trivia is there for us to search and find - not to make an educated guess based on the comments of other users. Your comment about cheat sites really bothers me. Are you suggesting that we obtain trivia answers that way?! Ridiculous!!! I understand that some things are out of your control, but the trivia could have been extended until the answer is back up. I'm sure many users will issue a rebuttal after they read this comment. Save it. There are no excuses for this - it IS unfair.

I believe I got the current trivia correct. Glad I had a fair chance at this one.
