I may have the answer right. Sometimes I wonder if the acrobatic site hacking involved with the search for answers is an issue. Someone mentioned changing the url for the previous trivia and I can see why I would never have gotten that one. It's not something that I would have looked for outside the context of the holiday.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

OccamsRazor, Trivia blatantly means: "The lower division of the seven liberal arts in medieval schools, consisting of grammar, logic, and rhetoric." For you to say that the last trivia was a math quesiton, thats a misunderstanding. No one said it was a math question. It was a puzzle...A riddle..That is why no math was involved...And by saying that you want an actual trivia, rather than having words to describe something else, read the definition above...=/. What you said is basically hypocracy. "consisting of grammer" words and finding words that mean the same thing is a type of grammer. Plus, the trivia on subeta are suppose to be hard...Very hard. Otherwise, the trivia prizes are just pointless if everyone can get one...And not to mention that being a newb on the site, no one expects newbs to get trivias right because they have no knowledge in subeta. ALTHOUGH, if you continue to be persistant like Aimee said, ANYONE can find the trivia. Its all a matter of persisting on places to look for within subeta. There are many places a trivia could come from, all it takes is for people to explore those places.

I have to totally agree with Ginger. You win some, lose some. It's a game. Get over it. Having walked in her shoes at one time, I totally appreciate what Debi puts into this. Oh, and I didn't get an apple - forgot all about the Easter shop. I'll live though.

maybe close comments. I know other games that have trivias, dont allow comments. I see past trivia discussions in the Games forums, maybe thats' where the trivia comments should go. Then the trivia can still happen for everyone. Everyone, including myself complain about trivias, maybe a few, maybe one or two, maybe all of them lol in this world you can't please a single person with anything.

I agree with Ginger! I actually found the last trivia by Googling something. . .can't remember what, when I happened upon the news post from the Easter Shop. And wham there it was. You look in all the usual places and if you haven't found it by then, I think luck plays a bit of a part. Bottom line is, DebiLee adds the trivia. We play by her rules. If we keep gripping on every trivia, DebiLee just might take her marbles and go home! Then no more trivia!

When you live in someone else's house you can't tell them what color the carpet should be grin if DebiLee puts up a trivia I can only find the answer to by standing on my head and reciting the alphabet backwards then she can - I learn a lot by failing at these things and get over the bitterness of defeat eventually.

No, well, that's just my point, everything is findable somewhere. I honestly didn't care about the last trivia itself, there was lots of real life stuff on my part. Yes, I like it more when the trivias are harder. But it seriously isn't as simple as "anyone could've gotten it with a bit of effort", you can say that about ANY trivia. Maybe I put any condescending tone I found in there, but that's what I was initially grumpy over, and I guess it evolved. Sorry. But whatever, I'm done. -goes to submit some three-yr old news trivias-

Thank you DebiLee you clarified your point very well... it was the same point I was trying to make. Trivia's area always Subeta related unless stated otherwise, therefor they are findable somewhere on the site, so regardless of if you're account is 1 day old, or over a year old, it's all in how determined you are to look everywhere for the answer.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by BlueGreenGrey

Someday, someday... we'll have a trivia that's worded perfectly, no confusion, and not too difficult - that everyone can answer, and then no one will be upset. Oh, wait - but the non-English-as-native-tongue speakers will still be upset. And the prize will also end up pretty much worth the same as a Free Gift item, cuz too many people got one, so people will still complain about working for nothing. Hrm. Guess Trivia will never be able to please everyone.

I personally, being on this site for almost two years now, and still get twice as many trivias wrong as I do right. There's no favoritism for older players, because everything is able to be found somewhere, somehow.... except possibly the Red Demon Plushie lore - way too few remaining players even knew that little factoid, and I was not one of them XD

But there is a need for nice trivia questions that haven't been done before (or a similar one done before.) So submit some good trivia suggestions, everyone! Give us an example of what a good trivia is supposed to be, especially if you think the Trivias have been lacking something lately

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by DebiLee
User Avatar

Actually, that's a perfectly legitimate Trivia question. No, not everyone can get every Trivia; that's what makes them Trivia. You could most likely also have found the Easter Shop link somewhere in old News posts. And some of the 200+ people that won who had had the apples up in trades were definitely not longterm users, just persistent until they found the answer.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by DebiLee
User Avatar

No, I actually never directly said that the elephant is wearable specifically, but I definitely implied that it was, because, well, it is. XD I actually had only said that it couldn't be a plushie; people figured it out from there. However, I did say that I think it looks like the little doll dangling down from the HA's hand. Also, I did say that there was a clue given, in the sP amount, 408. A little over 200 got it right; same as the cloak. I paid over 9 million each for both my cloak and my apple (no, I don't just get handed them for adding the Trivia like most people seem to think). The last one was more than long enough; there were over 1800 answers. The Trivia generally ends some time after 1,000 answers, but it can be 500 answers, especially if there is cheating. It won't end in less than 500 unless it double posts, contains an error, or pertinent information changes, because that would allow people to find it and post the answer, in an attempt to get it immediately shut down, in order to make their own prize more rare and valuable. Sorry, ain't happening. If fewer than 100 of an item are won then it gets reused. Neither the cloak nor the apple qualify, as, as I said, over 200 of each were won.

Same Ginger, I'm not mad, but I just think there should be a reasonable cap as to where you'd have to look for a trivia...technically, everyone -can- get every trivia, if you know where to look. 22 weeks back? Otherwise, I could ask "What item is presumed to have destroyed Shinwas Temple?" It's "findable" too.

I thought DebiLee was implying that the next prize wouldn't be wearable because the past handful, including this one, was, but perhaps I misread that comment.

Also, I heard from Philosofish that this prize is a toy, not a plushie or minion.

I admit I didn't go back through 23 pages of old news and read all of them so I didn't see the easter shop link - but I did spend hours looking for the answer and was doing the right thing in other places with the help of my trusty calculator and coming up empty - it was very well hidden and I hope my comments are not taken as oh I am so mad at the trivia - it was a very tough but findable trivia.

The problem is, what new user who didn't know about the Easter shop would have thought to swap /index for /easter? Whatever way you look at it, this question was decidedly one-sided to older users. I knew about the easter shop myself, and had it bookmarked year-round even, but my bookmarks got cleared a week or so ago and I couldn't re-find it. Plus, I think any Trivia that wants you to ferret through old news posts (which are getting bumped out and deleted every day) is rather questionable, even when you know that's what you're supposed to be doing.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by blaGue

I understand about having to know your way around subeta to get the trivias, but even though the easter shop is probably seasonal, it just...doesn't sit right with me. If you can pull stuff that used to be on the site but isn't any publicly released, why not pull stuff from other old news? Can someone who hasn't been here for years tell me who found a totem of a goddess of subeta? I'd like you to not imply that people who didn't get it due to not knowing simply didn't spend enough effort on it.

No one was given any hint or clue that the answer was found in the easter shop, so no one was hard-pressed to go looking for it in that particular place. Most likely it was found by those other users because they took the time to go through old news and exploring places that happened to be posted in the news, and happened to stumble across the easter shop.
