I just have to say, there is nothing quite as awesome as logging on, and finding one of your first events is a gift-exchange helicopter dropping a DEAD PERSON on you.

Chikken, that can happen. The reason is, that there have to be so many other items in the same price range as yours in the Gift Exchange pile (which are not the same item you are giving and which are from users other than yourself) before it will make an exchange. Even then, it picks at random. So, chances are, the first time your item did not find enough other UBs (that were different items and from other users) to be exchanged. The second time, I would guess, there were enough in the pile for the exchange to be made. Eventually, though, the Gift Exchange pile should get back to your first item.

In case anyone has a burning desire to know, this is the event you get if no one matches your gift in 2.5 days (though it may take longer than 2.5 to get returned to you - the elves in the back room get overwhelmed sometimes):

The Gift Exchange sends a notice that the item name you put up for exchange did not find a match within the 2 and a half day time limit. The item has been returned to you. Please feel free to try again.

Only thing I can see that's weird, is I have things popping into my inventory up to a minute before the event noticeL I got confused for a moment till I figured it out.

If you don't mind me asking, what does it feel like having a package dropped on you from the Gift Exchange helicopter? I imagine it's pretty high up, and what if there was no air resistance?! Wooooosh... splat. Unless of course, the packages had little parachutes on them!

Excuse my ramblings, I'm liking the idea of the way the gifts are exchanged :B

Unbuyables just trade with other unbuyables, however, there is no preference given to one unbuyable over any other, so a Spectrum Potion could get traded for an Arid Potion. This is why the front page of the Gift Exchange warns that Unbuyablesmay not always return a gift of the same worth.

If you item is not matched with another in 2.5 days, the item you gave is returned to you.

Might I suggest removing the username? If people swap UBs for instance people could get huffy at each other. :3

I wonder, what happens in the unlikely event that you offer an item and another of similar value never becomes available? Will it come back when the gifting season ends? ...No need to answer that, I'm just being difficult. XD Great idea! Definitely playing with this~
