In a move that has suprised all of Subeta, the Wizard has flaunted his money, and purchased the Subeta Carnival!

Tickets are no longer accepted, and are being exchanged for a 1=1 exchange rate, for a limited time!

The wizard has promised that he will create more things to do in the Carnival, and it is now his top priority!

In celebration, he has also released more of his staff's into Blackheart Hollow!

Why won't it let me exchange the tickets in my inventory I keep getting this message?

Oh No!: We can't exchange tickets if you don't have any, silly!

Restocking is an easy way to make money and these changes don't affect restocking at all. I kind of like that it's more challenging now, and making it so that you can only buy once every 12 hours in the token shop will stop people from going in and buying multiples of a new item, leaving nothing for people who weren't on at the time they were loaded. I don't see the big deal about these changes but that's just my opinion. I managed to build up money by restocking when I first joined the site and didn't even do wizard quests until I'd been on here for months. It's not the only way to make sp on here.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I see everyone's point on the matter and agree with every bit. It's just going to get harder and harder making sp,which I've had trouble with when Wizard was being nice a month ago,due to the influx of users joining the site, the site sometimes lags(Usually really bad with the forums)and more users will try to restock, making it harder for others to as well. Not that that's a bad thing, more users means more people donating to keep it up,but still,I don't want the economy going crazy.More on topic,I am quite sad tickets are gone,as things will sell faster in the ticket shop now.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

;______________________; I'll never get a spectrum potion now. I have enough for Starsong and Hell-Fire if they ever come back.. But..

Yeah.. Miracle potion here I come, lol.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Oh, and to the person who said people will donate more? Yeah, I bet they will. My husband and I spent over $100 a few weeks back buying stuff from the donation shop to get some of our pets painted, since some potions are nearly impossible to find for sale...

I can see people giving up on saving for the potions and just buying a Miracle Potion or Miracle Potion II from the donation shop, to paint their pets.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I'm surprised no one mentioned how totally unfair this is to the people who have been buying tickets each day in the hopes that they'd be able to get a potion for their pet when it was released.

I've been waiting and waiting for more graveyard potions to come out, and guess what? No that you've switched to wizard tokens, I'll NEVER get to buy them. Why? because you've cheapened the value of all items in the shop. How? Because you can trade and sell wizard tokens and you can buy as many of them a day as you want, where as with tickets you could ONLY get a set amount each day and they were non-tradeable.

I'm -seriously- pissed off, and I don't intend on exchanging my tickets for tokens. I think its stupid. This really wasn't the way to go about helping the economy, and in fact, I see the economy here getting quite a bit worse.

Keith said he's trying to balance everything out here, so give it a chance. Sure it's going to be hard adjusting, but there are other ways to make money. And in the long run, it will be better for Subeta's economy. And as nicaolla said, he's giving out better items. So chill =D

Mm. I'm curious how these changes will pan out to change gameplay. I knew the Wizard was being stingier, but he's been stingy before, so I didn't think much of it. A higher demand on tokens, though... that'll be something new. o: I wonder, will the ticke--token shop restock more of its items (or bring more new ones in) now that there'll be increased interest in it?

Ahh - Of course.

But, if the people who purchase those items from other users make their money from the wizard, how will they buy them?

And also - If I were one of those users, I'd think "My money's going to run out eventually, then I won't have any income" and assume it wasn't worth it in the first place.

I'm guessing the average player doesn't like to spend above a certain amount for quests, and you've cut off a main source of their income.
Some users might see donating as the only way to "get rich quick" now.

While it might not have been your intention, it could happen.

This is insane! Its fun, though. Now if the "donate" section of the site comes back up, we can earn sp by donating and getting rare items...poke

I don't mind making the wizard tokens harder to get - they are so cool, it makes sense.

Thanks for making things here exciting, Subeta Team!!!

heh i remember the 3rd item i got from my very first wizard quest. a sex berry. sold it for 500k adn i've been doing the quests ever since then to get another one. i miss the less expensive quests [under 10k] and the nice little gain i was getting from it -might have to buy another gold account to see if they are easier again-

I guess thats why I could only complete 2 quests today. D; But, as kuchiki said, it is the main form of income with most people, myself included. I would get 100k a day, if not more, a day from him, and it really made things easier on us who cant draw or make graphics for a profit. Dont get me wrong, I think its a cool idea, but it just made things a bit too complicated. ._.

But this site doesn't have all that many ways to earn, yet. Granted I'm speaking out of limited knowledge, but the wiz has (recently) been one way, and restocking. Artists can sell art commissions, but the rest of us? Games don't provide too much of a steady income. I think making 50k per day on wiz quests when many of the items to be saved up for are 4mil (potions) or 10 mil and more (weapons) doesn't seem like too huge a step. Area 62 was increasing the prices, which was fine, because people would get 4 or 5 tokens a day and could choose to use or sell, but by lowering that number and increasing the places to use tokens again they will get out of our reach. Plus people will be earning less so it will be harder to buy tokens from other users shops. I noticed right away that the economy (on the lower end) revolves around the wizard. Items under 9k sell well, and very expensive items (several hundred k) sell well. Those in the midrage are HTS, so even if the wiz gives out better items it will be harder to buy. I don't know, to all extents and purposes I'm a newbie, I'm just giving you feedback that to me this seems a bit -too- extreme. If you're balancing it, fair enough. I guess we can only wait and see

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Nightflame - Some people can't donate..The wizard might be their easiest way. n_n

I'm not against the wizard in any way. He gave me many excellent items before so I'm happy.

I've been on here for 2 months now and I found subeta great. I loved it for what kuchiki has said too, things are more fun here and a lot easier and fair for everyone! When I did the wizard quests at the time I joined, he did give me hard quests but the items he gave were awesome. Items that I could trade for 200ksp or even more. So not being able to do all quests was abit annoying but getting a nice item I could trade for sp was even nicer.
I too loved the easier wizard quests, I was able to complete almost all 30 of them and get tokens and sp. I hope the balance for the wizard quests means some quests will be easy and some hard and the rewards are some nice rare items as I liked the surprises of the rare items he gave
Thanks

Isn't making wizard tokens more "expensive" kind of a moot point anyway, since most people donate to get rich quick? They don't need the wizard for that.

kuchiki - we are working on making the wizard more balanced.

As you have said - you've joined from a forum in the past two weeks. The wizard wasn't always like this - he was far more difficult.

The wizard has provided a way for users to get rich extremely quickly, while it may have it's perks, it also means it takes you two weaks to save up for something thta used to take a month.

We are working on balancing it (And the items that you get from it are far more worth it now than before) so that it is better for everyone.

However, it won't be changed to how easy it was before.

And, before anyone asks, no, they're not easier for staff either. I did three that cost me about 20K each.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by covet
User Avatar

I'm sorry, but as a new user I feel like this needs to be said.

I'm one of a group of about 20 people from an online forum who signed up over the last two weeks and completely fell in love with the game. Unlike other places, money making was easy and fun, the wizard quests meant nobody was too poor and people could always zap or save for the potions they wanted. It was a great, equal system and really enjoyable to play in.

If the wizard quests are intended to stay as hard as they have been today, it's going to shatter all that. token prices already almost doubled with the opening of area 62, now that tokens are going to be twice as hard to get they are going to raise in price even more.

I -love- area 62, but now that the ticket shop uses tokens, if I ever want to save and get something nifty from the ticket shop it means I can't afford to play area 62 or zap pets just for fun.

I just think it's a bad idea that's going to suck the fun out of things. If you're going to make wizard tokens usable for -more- things on the site, they should be -easier- to get, not harder. And who wants to waste an hour doing 20 quests when only one or two are worthwhile?

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

deep sigh I'm happy that prices stayed same. I've been saving for GY and Spectrum Potions. Got 620 tokens.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by kazii
User Avatar

Good idea, but this is either going to make tokens really cheap or really expensive. I'll be interested to see how this turns out, but you won't see me buying any tokens--don't want to lose sp if this doesn't work out.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

i'd do the wizard quest about 3-4 times a week depending if i was up to it. usually i'd not be able to do anywhere from 2-5 of the quests each time. -collects odd things the wizard might ask for-
