Hmmm, the no defense is quite a complicating improvement. xD Almost impossible. Just have to get defensive items too I suppose.
One suggestion though, now that defense is something you need on your own,
Why not have a very weak defense item with them by default, similar to the battle spork?
It makes you helpless if your defense item breaks, etc...
Since the computer opponents still can defend with various weapons, leaves you helpless.
I would like this miniscule feature to be added.

No defending against computer opponent, eh? Defense was very strong at high levels, I guess. Let's see what else changed...
