New SBQ Line! Updates on Islanders!

The new Cash Shop challenger and subscription item will be released tomorrow, October 1.

Be your most fashionable self on the high seas with this new Subeautique line from designer Cece!

For those that have been wondering where the islander challengers are, we have decided to release them (soon) through the fishing game that is being revamped over on kumos.subeta.net!

It's still being worked on, so please report any issues you encounter. Once it's "officially" released, we will add the islanders to various difficulty levels. This allows the challengers to be available year-round and allows us to play around with achievements or loot at higher tiers.

Fishing rewards are definitely broken. I've gotten perfect catch a couple times, but got common rewards. Also the Underground Pool isn't giving anything. Definitely enjoy the numbers telling me how far off I am, makes it a lot easier.

... Also the fishing pole and bait teasers are ... weird. How abaout giving some info on how the tack is used? I guess the poles are permanent, while the bait one use? Imagine someone bought that 1st fishing pole - can't check name nor info, because, as said before, it's gone, once I navigate away, only to find out, it's completely useless for what they plan how to play the game. Shouldn't pets' fishing skill depend on their intelligence in a way? Can I fish with all pets or do I need to stick to that one, that happened to be active on first try? Wouldn't a forum thread, that explained everything more thoroughly and give us a place to ask/discuss make sense?!

Actually I've just reached that level. Darn expensive - and thx for not being able to account search!!! Kumos is taking up soooo much time. Being ultimately slow in the first place doesn't help, yet having to constantly copy paste account and shop search on Subeta is an absolute killer.

Plus, I hate, that I cannot go back and forward on the fishing pages, to check, what I won or what level I'm now, but once I leave a page it's gone, backtabbing sends me to the news comment. Of course I could open in a new tab or window, but going back and forth often is more practical, let alone, I don't realize, I can't run through the pages.

I just got to the next level and was shown all the fishing rods and bait we'll be able to use in the future. Most of them are hideously expensive.

ooh, i really like that belt in particular. a bit simple, maybe, but it would work perfectly for some stuff. gonna have to try and get my hands on it.

also, very glad i looked at the comments here. trying to do much of anything on the kumos site yesterday was borderline impossible and infuriating due to the avatar issue, and i eventually gave up bc i had no idea why it was doing that.

Where do you get the having to buy equipment from? Is there a Fishing thread somewhere?

Not new: I'm not a Kumos Fan, either. I'm so glad to read, that others also are having their avatars pop up on every page. I was searching high and low, were I was probably triggering it wich my mouse on my half size window, lol, yet it did happen in full size as well, anyway.

Profile page again like every page bloated though with less info - I want all my trophies and pets, info etc.

Fishing - I need to scroll down to see the distances. Otherwise the game is o.k. Prizes: I was only 20 away, but I got a "Fair" rating & prize, when this should be "Rare" Very close (≤20 distance)? Why is there a "continue" button, when we have to wait half an hour? Other than the link in this news post - how would we actually find the game? There is a "games" button on the explore drop down, however, like them all it leads to legacy frame.

I agree with Bunny20. I don't like the kumos site at all & only go there to do Wiz quests. But now that the profile/HA box keeps coming up on top of the quest items it's nearly impossible. I would prefer the regular site to be worked on. My battle pet was hoping to do some fighting but I guess not. Maybe for morostide.

Love the new Subq line!

The Kumos site isn't very user friendly, I too keep getting a window with my profile pic on it, sometimes I can get it to move, other times not. And the lag on trying to do anything is annoying. And the fishing thing . . . It's just not fun. It's all very confusing to me. I just want a challenger in my battle tabs that I can fight.

(Maybe I'm an old fuddy duddy, but I just prefer the old site, it's easier for me to understand.)

Playing the fishing game in case having a higher level will help once challengers are there. Can't say I'm enjoying it. Still just mine sweeper. Also my HA constantly popping up to block the screen is super annoying.

I've tried the fishing game out but am not happy at the idea of having to spend a lot of sP on equipment and bait to improve my chances. Does this mean only very rich battlers will have the chance of unlocking higher tier island challengers?

I did the fishing and got Coral Waufle Boots, but the Kumos site is aggravating for me, so I don't think I'll do it again (I understand the effort, and why there has to be some changes, just if more mobile friendly, and not so different, especially profiles), but I don't battle anyways, so that's just as well.

I do like the Subeautique line, particularly Cece Arrgyle Sea Salt Spray.

Battling will happen on the legacy site still - since we haven't moved battling over.

Earning the opponents will happen in the new fishing game, and we're giving you the opportunity to see and test it before it goes live.

Yep! The thing with is I want to make sure we rotate out some of the loot since we hadn't prepared to have them back out this year. It was a good point brought up at the start, that they didn't return last year and should this year. That's why I've brought up talking with multiple times.

I'm intrigued by the fishing opponents, though it's unclear how we will be battling them. My concern about the pirate challengers is that there are achievements tied to those opponents and some people may not have them yet. Last year they didn't make an appearance, so it would be nice for people to be able to battle them this year for achievements.

We've been putting a lot of challenger releases at the end of events or right when one ends to help migrate the issues users sometimes get with the site being overloaded. It's not been as big of an issue as past year with particular holidays, but it's just sort of a pattern we've fallen into! I think Morostide is one of the few that we have continued to spread them from the start but there are also like 50 challengers for the holiday (truly do not know how y'all have the time to beat them all).

The original plan was to bring the islanders back this year, so the pirates were not down on my list of things for the holiday. :) And this is me telling you all the change of plans, I could've easily just said "jk no islanders at all this year" or something. Other than Morostide, we generally switch off for what challengers come back (like at survival).

The Islanders, which were originally promised yes, just make more sense to be tied with fishing. The game is set at the islands, one of the islanders teaches you to fish, etc etc. In the long run, don't you think it's better to have more time to attack a challenger, potentially have more loot at higher tiers, and more than a short visit to get as much in as you can before they disappear?

Challengers showing up at the end or after holidays is so disheartening. 🙁 At that point, fighting them is no longer an exciting part of the holiday that I can do while completing other fun holiday activities - it’s isolated and honestly disappointing and effortful, and feels like having to play catch-up. Keen to see how this works, but disappointed by this trend. I know you guys do a lot with the little you have and I’m grateful for that. Just putting my feelings out there. ❤️

I'm liking the new fishing game over on the kumos site. I never caught the treasure in the original fishing game, despite trying for many, many years. I just now found the treasure on my first try! Looking forward to seeing more stuff added.

It's baffling that no one thought that maybe we'd like the pirates to return for the pirate holiday, especially since they weren't available last year.

Perhaps next time you can let us know at the beginning of the holiday so we aren't disappointed.

We were never going to do all of the holiday challengers this year. I don't even think I mentioned pirates in past news posts. Fishing is super minor compared to the bigger projects like quests/shops/whatever. There isn't much left really that is an issue, as far as I'm aware, other than me playing with the prizes more.

Like I said earlier, I'll be talking to . We've done challengers related to a holiday as an event ends plenty of times before. :) This was me being up front about changes instead of just letting the islander challengers disappear into the night.

I was very o.k. with battling after shop closure, because trying to restock beside all dailies is too time consuming to pair it with a ton of foes, yet they should have made their appearance in a timely manner...

I wished we'd get the quests and shop & account search work correctly, plus the Reputation plan and what have you before having to go to a Subeta game on Kumos to be able to find our challengers, which we will battle on Subeta...

I was under the assumption, before Fishing was being revamped, that we'd get pirates, sea monsters (our usuals) + Islanders returning as something new and exciting. Which yes, that'd have tipped us over at 21 event challengers, just one more than Morostide. Which is why I was okay with hearing that sea monsters and islanders were going to be unlockable opponents from Fishing, because I assumed the Pirates were still going to be made available for the holiday at least.

However, hearing that we were only getting Islanders for the holiday, and nobody else....I feel there was a lot of miscommunication. Cause now it's up in the air if we're getting anything for the holiday, since we don't know when fishing will be finished with its revamp.
