Like the other 20th Anniversary cookies, these will retire at the end of the month. These two cookies will still be able to go out their original ways.

" I disagree, We cannot compare the Token Shop, which we can purchase once ever 12 hours with the Crystal Shop which it seems to me is every 30 minutes or so. I have counted only two releases of the cookies in the Crystal Shop. Those were hoarded and now sell in user shops for about 50million SP. The Token shop in this respect is fairer.

I guess I'll activate a gold account membership for the rest of December to have better chances to obtain them, I got any today but the month is still young!
The achievements won't retire! Just the items will stop going out at the end of the year (how is it already december!!!!). There's no plans to bring them back in the future on the books. Like they could come back, but I wouldn't bet on it any time soon.

just want to add in- i’m one of those people who spends millions on tempest lightning rods trying to get a storm cookie never got one. but this is a community that i love and cherish, and i don’t regret pumping money into the subetan economy! it’s like college debt forgiveness, just because i have spent loads of money doesn’t mean other people should have to. (and if you don’t support that, we will not see eye to eye!) i am so grateful for this ! and everything else y’all do to keep this site up and running.

Do the achievements retire at the end of the year, or just the cookies themselves? I am one of those that would like them as wearables and for the achievements so I'm just deciding which way to get a few I still need and I can't for the life of me remember if it was said whether the achievements also retire. 🫣

Also y'all need to remember the cookies are not just for the achievement. Plenty of people need more than one for treasures, feeding to multiple pets, the wearable, etc. Yes, it's great you got the achievement! But once you feed that to your pet, it's gone off site.
I think that's fair, but I also think 20th Anniversary achievements aren't the right ones to make nearly impossible. I do agree that achievements aren't taken as seriously as they used to be. But I liked earning them through plots and activities.

Yay! Cookies. Thank you. :) (for those upset that they spent sP, I have had many many item values deflated by having them put in the free shop or the crystal shop or whatever. I've also seen a lot of things increase in price greatly because of scarcity. Prices fluctuate all the time; don't get too stressed about it.)
I just feel like achievement collectors have never been taken seriously, if it's by lowering requirements for achievements (like the snowballs) or making the achievement easier to get after a while, we, the collectors, put a lot of effort, we need to be the best in every aspect, if it's with the collections, battling, wardrobe, everything that subeta has to offer, but yet, we are barely counted us, so I wish that some achievements would have been be protected as much as the value of a legendary weapon for example.
So yeah, I felt a bit meh when I saw the news post, but it's not the end of the world.. sorry about that.
50-100? Why do you want to lock the majority of active users out of those achievements forever? There's no reason for stuff like this to be "tough". It's a celebration of the anniversary, and it gets exclusive books that will stay desirable indefinitely. If only a small handful of the people here this year could ultimately get the achievements, that would... suck.
I honestly don't really get elitism at all, but if you want to use achievements to show you're in the top whatever % of players, the opportunities are still there. There's Richest User obviously, but mostly it's a longevity thing. There are a bunch where you have to do certain things thousands of times, there's a cycle of annual ones that retire so you had to be there.. grinding does still exist. You wanting to consider yourself hardcore doesn't mean the better move is to crush the hopes of most of the community. Also, you had 11 months to be one of the first with this one.
