Today is a major milestone for Subeta. We are 20 years old! It's absolutely crazy looking back at everything we've achieved. We say this every year but it's still very true - we wouldn't be here without every single one of you dedicated users. Everyone that has referred a friend, helped a new user, tested a feature, and more. We look forward to what our small but mighty team can complete in the future with all of you there next to us!

Seriously, thank you for 20 great years, even with the chaos some of those years have brought. ;) Let us know in the comments what your favorite time was!

The Tempest is hoarding her cookies and so is the Rift. Maybe retire all the other cookies at the end of the year, as scheduled, but leave these two as a treat to receive randomly all year round?

two months later and i haven't been able to get neither the riftborn one (even though trying almost daily) nor the storm one. pretty sure Tempest Lightning Rods won't be available at the end of the year because Amber forgot (and i cannot blame her for this). so yeah, happy birthday!

Has anyone gotten the riftborn cookie? I thought it might be throwing other 20th anniversary cookies into the rift to get that one back but that hasn't worked for me yet.

20 years, dang! My memory is just coming on the site. I was on a lot of sites back then, many of them defunct now. I found Squibly and Valenth first, back in the day. Never really got into Valenth, but loved Squibly. Made a few layouts at the time too that I was super proud of, featuring some of my favorite adoptables.... that I stupidly can't remember the names of anymore. Anywat, I kept seeing mention of Subeta this, Subeta that. So I was like "Okay, lets check this out." I was immediately smitten. It seemed like a cooler, more progressive, not-run-by-Scientologists Neopets, only cuter, mixed with Gaia Online without the rampant toxicity and bad business practices. My first pet was a Celinox named Doralee (I was in love with the musical version of 9 to 5... I've gotten a little better taste since then), and my little pet family has just grown and grown. While I've often meandered away, or life has gotten in the way, I've always returned. And always will, as long as this place is here.

That description on the sweetheart cookie saying those pets have been around for 11 years had me just going "Nah, Nah, NAH" like No Way it been that long. Wild. I've been on Subeta for over 18 years though did take a break THE YEAR THERE WAS LIKE FIVE PLOTS THAT HAPPENED I came back and someone had Died Not Died but school was hitting hard. I too scratched hundreds of cards with no luck but this morning after scratching a stack of 50 Calvin cards I found the cookie in my inventory. None of my wins announced I got the cookie but it was there. I think it might have come from when I won the jackpot on one of those Calvins (yellow bag symbol) but I can't be totally sure.

Such a great milestone. So many years so little the time. My biggest fun was in the younger years (basically my high school years) whenever a site year would start my sisters and me would have a huge contest to see who could collect the most holiday items during those events. (I believe this was also before CSC became a thing on this site.) Got in trouble for that because we shared the same computer, but I would give anything to go back to those golden days.

Side note questions about the cookies. I won a Field Kerubi Plushie from a Maleria scratch card. Do I need to win a Kumos scratch card to get the cookies?

I see the rods do help to get the cookies, but the chances seem very slim and I only have 37 rods sitting in my vault.

So glad you guys are around❤️ As someone with OCD that creates a lot of severe anxiety in my life, I absolutely love having this space as somewhere to go to get my mind off things and have it be a mindless task. Last October/November I could not work, I was home on medical leave, miserable and really going through it, but I had Morostide and Fireside and this place was the only thing I was able to muster the energy to do. I have crocheting, drawing, painting, perler beads, my hula hoops, etc, I have plenty of outlets but this space just gives me somewhere to go without the effort. I can just log on and click around, buy some random things, do quests, just really chill out without any commitment that my other hobbies sometimes demand from me and is hard to get into when I’m having a horrible mental health day. I may be over sharing a bit but this is a safe space and I really appreciate that so much. Thank you for everything, I know you guys try so hard for us and as long as you’ve got fight left in you to keep the place going, I will be here to support it. Happy birthday, Subeta :’’)
