Of course, ! One of the reasons I have no intention on retiring the items is for those like who can't purchase CSC so they have to depend on users buying and selling them for sP/other currencies. You can really see with the older items in the shop are cheaper sP wise than the newer ones.

You don't! So if you don't like anything this round of new items, you can hold off until the next one to spend them. Or work your way through older items. Each card that comes out gets 5 new items (with the same price range). We haven't retired any items and currently have no intention on retiring any.
