Nope! This is a security issue with one of our providers (I think everyone would be pretty shocked at how many external companies we have to work with to keep a site like Subeta up!) that hosts all of our images. We haven't run out of space or anything!

This may be a stupid question. Is the problem something that can be helped by slimming down my vault and galleries? Or is this a matter of how many items there are and not how many of each item there are? I was thinking of going through my vault and galleries anyway.

i have emptied the cache, deleted temp. files and the history, problems remain. i don't know what you have to do with amazon, but i get these account blocks every 3 months from paypal, amazon and ebay by e-mail. i have been ignoring them for a long time, because at the beginning i asked the sites what was going on, because there was no access. all the sites said the mails were not from them. i also changed the password every time and was upset, but my billing was always correct. I never knew you could be flagged for sus activity on an S3 bucket. I can see how in retrospect, which means I can't see how Subeta would even fall under that.

While we're waiting on a response from Amazon (they've once again blocked our account for "suspicious activity". I've once again responded that there has been no access, the password has been rotated, and the billing is the same as it has been for 12+ months)

And I've now set up a new server to handle:

  • Backing up our entire S3 (on Amazon) image bucket, where all of img.subeta.net is served
  • Creating a failover space in DigitalOcean (they offer a similar S3 compatible service, and that is where our servers are) that is fully 1:1 with the S3 bucket
  • Update our scripts (things like the panel artists use to upload images to the site, custom wearables) to upload to the new DigitalOcean location for images
  • Switch where images are served from to use the new location

We're also going to sign up for a small, fairly cheap, service that will ensure that our images are fully backed up in all circumstances in a way that we can emergency toggle to that service if needed (flexify.io).
