Mix tape cassettes were such a part of my childhood. My parents had two in particular that we would listen to on pretty much every road trip. (Which was a huge inspiration for her story.)

Congrats! What an amazing story. I love your memories. When I was a kid we had one black and white TV that we all watched. Eventually we got the color one and OMG that was a HUGE thing. I remember the TVs that came later too. The big heavy piece of furniture gave way to sleeker and nicer ones with state of the art pictures and of course now everyone has one in their bedroom. We went to Blockbuster every week and my kids loved picking out movies. So did I. We went round and round in the store, each of us looking for the perfect movie. :) I had about 400 cassettes I had collected over time but I remember how amazing they were compared to the 8-tracks I had before. I still have a couple records I couldn't give up even though my record player was long gone. And then when cassettes were replaced with CD's, oh, I just thought they were so cool... but it was slow getting fully into those. And now of course I still have a lot of them but I never play them anymore. I do dive into the YouTube black hole once in a while tho. Can't avoid it. lol
