Hello, everyone! Thank you for bearing with us while we found the organs, er, code, to resuscitate the Voluntary Infection Program. That's what happens when dealing with older bodies of work (ten years' worth, in this case, of different viruses with different stage lengths), the code sometimes needs a bit of patching especially to make sure the problem is handled for good. Fortunately, Keith's update should help next year as well as give Survival its teeth back for 2022.

We understand that it's frustrating when problems crop up, and we really do appreciate you sticking with us through Subeta's various holidays. We'd rather things go off without a hitch, but any endeavor with (for instance) the complexity of the VIP program has a lot of moving parts and we wanted to make sure it was all ready rather than just pushing out an incomplete fix that might cause other issues later.

Now that the Voluntary Infection Program is fully back in fine infectious form, we're extending Survival to 11:59pm on March 9. Thank you all again, and have fun!

About how long does it take to unlock a strain? It's my first year so I have no idea, and it's not stated anywhere in these posts? I've been waiting I think 3 days so far and no change or notification. Maybe it takes longer bc it's the first time, but an eta or better breakdown of this VIP thing would be nice because this is a long wait.

I thought, it might just not load, but after 3 days I'm sure kissing from the sidebarlinks or the banners or in postings definitely does not work.

Ah heck, I’m 12 hours behind on getting a new skin, since I was busy working all day/night, but glad for the extension! Thanks for all your hard work and can’t wait to see what the new strains look like.

Also, a couple reminders: If you're having a problem with selecting a strain, pages not loading, etc, check to make sure you're logged in on New Subeta; you can check from your wardrobe: https://new.subeta.net/wardrobe [sub](Or... any sort of issue, really, try checking that first. ha.)[/sub]

After choosing your virus at the VIP: https://subeta.net/explore/underground/vip.php, remember to go get some bites in for whatever you selected. Otherwise it'll take a while for you to naturally get your infection going.

Yo I bought Hyper shortly after the VIP came online again and I just checked in with Gunner as I hadn't started yet, to find I wasnt infected?! I've bought Happy this time, fingers crossed it works!

Only thing i'm bummed about is not checking back sooner so no i won't be one of the first anymore like the first time but nbd kind of lost the care. I also took a cure but it hasnt worked, should i just work to get the 1mill or wait a couple mins

I wasn't intending that to be aggressive, it was just a "we haven't planned on when opponents will go out because this is what we've been focused on". There is no set date yet, but now that we've gotten this sorted out we can all sit down and figure that out. If I just put "we don't know", people will ask why we don't know. I was just trying to give a bit of context, sorry!

is saying that the priority was fixing the new zombie infections first. They just did that so they’ll have a news post when/if challengers are out. You can also follow here or here to see if they announce anything earlier. Otherwise I recommend being patient. They will get to it when they can.

Thank you so much for all your hard work! I was quick enough to get bitten for the Yggdrasil strain before the issues arose. It was able to develop during the downtime while I was kissing as much as I can for the Candy Hearts. And now, I got the Fevermore strain incubating! No matter what happens, I'll always have a great time during Survival!

Yay! Now to wait 22 hours until my vial strain is done...haha! Yes, I could heal and get a new one, but I'll be patient and hope there is enough time to get the ones I want this year.
