Thank you. They really are the best.
Also, some of those "Into the Woods" lyrics are strangely apropos for my situation. Interesting little coincidence.
...I wish this didn't suit my Broadway gallery so perfectly. He's going to have a legacy like Shakespeare's, and no one lives forever...but I wish he could have.
"Sometimes people leave you Halfway through the wood Do not let it grieve you No one leaves for good" ---one of my favorite parts of Into the Woods Thanks Subeta <3
, I'm so sorry about your chocolate lab. They're really the best. May your memories give you comfort and peace.
When the news of Sondheim's death first reached me, I spent an hour crying, because just that day alone I'd been listening to 'A Little Priest' from Sweeney Todd and giggling at all the 'bad'/'Dad' jokes. Immediately my thoughts turned to my favorite song from Into The Woods, 'Children Will Listen', and I was a mess. The man's musical prowess was a treasure. Few people know Lin-Manuel Miranda consulted with Sondheim when writing Hamilton, and he was an inspiration to so many of today's modern artists.
A beautiful tribute. Thank you, Subeta. (Somehow not surprised by this- I know you guys have a few nods to Sondheim's works in your items, especially the zombie foods. XD)
Lyrical Composition Book has been read to Arthur! Arthur says, "That made me feel some things and I'm going to need to process it."
:( Thank you.
Thank you so much for this item. Sondheim's death hit me really hard and I have been finding comfort in seeing people from all the parts of my life sharing how much his words and music shaped who they are today. He really knew how to distill down the intricacies of human existence into words and melodies that were quite literally music to our ears, and our lives are better for having listened to and seen his work. Thank you, Mr. Sondheim. And thanks again Subeta for this item. ❤️
Omg. I don't play Subeta anymore, but I check the news regularly and I just have to say... thank you for such a sweet tribute item. For those who aren't familiar with the performing arts world, Stephen Sondheim was the Broadway musical equivalent to Beethoven or Shakespeare. His artistry was unmatched.
He wrote the music for Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, Follies, A Little Night Music, Company, and Sunday in the Park with George, if anyone wants to give his shows a try. If you're not interested in a Broadway show, both Sweeney Todd and Into the Woods were recently adapted into movies, and they, of course, feature Sondheim's music.
Rest in peace to this monumental figure.
Lyrical Composition Book has been read to Helix! Helix says, "I might be excited and a little over dramatic, but that was the best thing to bless this world since air."
Indeed. Thank you ❤️
I’m not crying, it’s just allergies.
Thank you!
Thanks for explaining. I just feel bad that I didn't read the other comments before I posted here.
Thank you! 😘
Not me crying over a book in a virtual world.
Stephen Sondheim was, and always will be, a true legend. This is a beautiful tribute to his legacy. Thank you.

Wait, someone died? I didn't hear anything about that, sorry =(
Woke up and saw this in the directory and got worried I'd slept through a TS restock, so thank goodness it's just a free gift!!!
thank you for the tribute and free gift.
The wording of this news post really hit me hard since I just lost my beloved chocolate lab today. I could sure use some comforting music or lyrics or something; how did you know? :(
I'm glad some comments mentioned who this tribute was for though because otherwise I wouldn't have known.
A fitting tribute. Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you so very much! :)
Thank you Subeta and thanks everyone--without the comments I wouldn't have realized this was for Stephen Sondheim. News is (usually) not a component in my own little world.
A legacy of magnificence.

A lovely tribute to Stephen Sonheim <3
An excellent item, thank you ^^ I need two!
Sang a ton of Sondheim with some community elders around a piano on Sunday in his memory. We drank, sang, cried, reminisced- it was fabulous.
