My comment was deleted, and it surely wasn't inappropriate as I used a SAFE word similar to "boring" to describe the release system. The staff should be more in synchrony then as the battle admins were the only staff involved in the discussion and it seemed like my comment was deleted because someone didn't personally like it.

What censoring are you referring to? I don't know if anyone's comments got deleted while I was asleep, but battle admins can't delete news comments, so if comments went missing, it wasn't us. I do know that absolutely no one has been banned for anything they've said to us. It's my understanding that someone has to be pretty abusive to get banned, and nobody here has been that bad.

I think putting the acorn bomb in this stock is a step towards reducing the gatekeeping? Idk, I'm a battle newbie but I'm happy this item was released again in a manner that many people can get it.

I didn't see this as a distraction. Amber said in the previous post that the acorn would be in the next restock after the battle admins said she could include it, we just didn't know how soon it would be. And the site has been slightly more active than usual recently. They could have made us wait another week for a chance to get it, but they didn't.

Well now I'm just annoyed that I missed that book because I've been avoiding Subeta today. (All the battle drama and the quests not refreshing for hours and the forums not loading for me to even report it reminded me why I barely spend time on here anymore, despite being a very very old timer.)

We have internal discussions all the time -- we're all present in an employee Slack. If I publicly say something like, "We don't have the resources to do this," I'm not just assuming that or pulling it out of thin air; I've talked to various departments and determined exactly what we can or can't do.

As for the acorn bomb, it was my understanding that people were annoyed they couldn't get their hands on it to feed it to their gourmand pets, and they were under the impression that was because the BAs would get angry if it were released again. We actually had no problem with it being released again, so as soon as we found out people wanted it, we asked Amber to get it back out there.

As for why I haven't been answering questions all day... I was up all last night (until 10am my time) answering questions and I had to sleep at some point. :)

I guess now's as good a time as any to mention that the last time the Acorn Bomb restocked, I bought one thinking I didn't have it - turns out, I already did. Been stuck with the damn extra ever since.

So if anyone misses this restock, contact me and make me an offer. I don't really need tokens, I have almost 80K of 'em and would rather have sP, but eh, I'm flexible, we can work something out. And yes, I'm also aware I could have just fed it to a pet, but I don't give a rat's ass about achievements. Like I said, I'd rather have the sP.

Regardless of the previous fiasco, I appreciate being able to snap up a acorn bomb for my armory. I am a low level very casual battler and I did not have this item yet.

Outside of a small handful of comments no one was rude. We brought up extremely valid points and got ignored while other users got pinged and responded to. At least one has had their comment removed for violating community guidelines when it clearly doesn't (screenshots of said deleted comments included, if anything stuff I said was far more in violation of guidelines than what they said), I don't know if there are others but it wouldn't surprise me.

well now, why are we mad about the acorn bombs? amber got permission (hah..) to put them in there and she followed through right away; i don't think we should be upset with her. amber isn't in charge of the battle system. :/ i mean i agree it's kind of an appeasement, but i don't think it's malicious?

Releasing the item ~a day later smacks of distraction and trying to placate users who were mad about it when the admins have been silent on it all day. The boxes were an attempt, but a poor one that has clearly earned the ire of most of the community regardless of if they're battlers or not.

They're ignoring us over on the original thread, so coming here is at least a way to let them know we haven't forgotten and this won't distract or placate us.

But that's sort of what the boxes are for...? Especially with the ones being battle prizes and not just bought, it's supposed to equalize. Flooding the market at once wouldn't be good. I agree battling is frustrating rn and it's frustrating when Subeta doesn't currently have the programming resources to fix it, but the community response seems toxic enough that it's not helping, like one person was accusing the battle admins of stealing site resources by getting an item and overlay made. (I admit that was just one person and not even close to the bulk of the response).

It's an important conversation to have, but I just feel like letting the emotions spill over into unrelated comment threads about stuff like a Token Shop release isn't appropriate. Even if the release involves a re-release of a highly desired battling item, this isn't the place to make your case.

tl;dr creating an artificial scarcity when they don't need to, and when everything else on the site eventually goes through getting stuff re-released in some manner except for battle. The staff aren't 'hoarding', per say, but they could release more of the weapons than they are and in other ways than they did.

Right? Even a very simple "we're having an internal discussion about this" is better than the obvious radio silence that's been happening.

I put it in this token shop restock because gave me the green light and I even said in the news comments yesterday it'd be in the next token shop restock (which I try very hard to do crystal shop and token shop restocks once a week). It’s an item that is requested a ridiculous amount on the please bring back thread.

I seriously don't understand? Are the gacha weapons that good in battle, or are they just cool? There's lots of cool items that are hard to get, you know? How are the admins benefitting from 'hoarding'??
