My friends and I had actually been working on an invention to protect against these possessions until somebody can figure out what’s going on. I say “had” because there’s been an unfortunate turn of events.

Garret was first. One night, he gathered up everything we’d worked on - schematics, notes, theories, all of it - and burned it all to ashes. Then he locked himself in one of the large workshops. The rest of us were all worried, but it was Victoria who decided to try and snap Garret out of it. That was days ago. Neither one of them has returned, and it certainly sounds like there’s some major construction going on. I’m worried about my friends, obviously, but I’m also worried if I intervene I’ll end up inadvertently doing the bidding of whatever this thing is.
