Thank you for this. I lost two of my cats last month, one due to old age and the other due to complications with diabetes. It was already a difficult time but the news of the passing of such a great person and actor really was just another low blow...

Since this ridiculous debate is STILL going on: a "black panther" is any large cat of the Panthera family that is melanistic. There, now we can stop with the non-sequiturs that inadvertently insult the creators of "Black Panther" as being too stupid to "know" what a "black panther" is, and we can focus on the work of a great man who fought through pain and suffering to give us his glorious art before he left us! :)

It's kind of old-timey, but Americans used to refer to mountain lions or cougars as panthers (or "painters", in Appalachia) no matter the color.

Aside from the fact that the term "black panther" irks me every time I see it as panthers are leopards with black fur and nothing more... Thank you. It's a wonderful tribute ❤
