While we originally planned to close legacy shops this month, due to recent site issues we will be postponing closing legacy shops until July. We will give y'all a two weeks heads up before we close them, of course!

, no legacy shops are not the same as galleries. Legacy shops are shops and galleries that were created before they changed them over to a new system in 2016ish. Some people never switched over to the new shop system, and those are considered legacy shops. They want everyone to switch to the newer system now, so they don't have to keep 2 systems running, possibly complicating things for the site even further.

Also can we please get the promised link to the Move-to-Vault tool put somewhere official? Having to go back to the forum post to find it is awkward. If it's on the Legacy Shops page that hasn't loaded for me since before the original announcement.

If you fail to move the items yourself they won't be deleted. You don't need to do anything by this date, it's just when the splash page is going down. In case lag picks up/people are freaked out (especially since I think the original announcement didn't make the news so this might be first people are hearing of it again).

The Move-to-Vault tool will remain available after that date, until further notice. Eventually, we may schedule downtime to automatically transfer whatever is left over. In that case, we will either automatically transfer them into user vaults or come up with a different solution - but inactive users will still keep their items somehow. We won't delete them in any case :)

How to tell if this affects you.
Did you join subeta after May 2016?
(you can check by hitting up your profile (if you have Statistics displayed) or check Personal - Dashboard.)If YES? This does NOT affect you! You can only have made a shop and/or gallery in the new system! All of the NEW user shops are located on the Commerce - Your Shops page and you can continue to use them. ❤️
If YES:
-You really need to move those items to a safe place & delete the shop by ~July 2020 -(those shops have been retired for 4 years now & are finally going to be removed.) -You can use the Move-To-Vault tool to safely & easily move them to your vault. -No, they cannot be instantly moved to new shops instead. For reasons why, see here. -It might take some time. Ex: "a legacy shop with over 22,200 unique items finished transferring in about 30 minutes." -That means you're fine and don't have to do anything. This entire change does NOT affect you. Go about your life! ❤️
-Again: the NEW SYSTEM shop/gallery are all on this page. Those are the current user shop/gallery and are ok to use! There are no problems if this is where your shop/gallery are! :D

I log on pretty sporadically so it took me a good minute to realize that this refers to the shop change from like.....years and years ago....I had no idea legacy shops were still around. Honestly, I had forgotten they had ever changed that's how long it's been lmaooo. :x

How will this affect our achievements 'Making a living' and 'Shop Till Saver'?
Because my old shop has still made twice as much as my newer one, and I don't want to lose how far I've gotten in Achievements.

Glad to hear this. I planned to work on my remaining shops in last two weeks of March but I came down with covid19 so I just accepted I wouldn't be able to clear it out in time. Now I can still get it done myself.

Ooh that explains a lot, when I came back from hiatus my shops&gallery had little (!) next to them and I thought they just broke after being inactive for a while. I just deleted the shops but I wonder if they actually had items in them, lol

My brother, who doesn't come on here too often, said that his shops had exclamation points after the names and that he couldn't access them last week. I don't think he ever converted his shops back in 2016 or so when the new system went into place.

They’re the old user shops from before the update around last year or so. Users had to move their things from the old shops and make new shops to replace them, but to give people plenty of time the old shops were still around this whole time. In July they’ll finally be deleted. If you don’t have a user shop or a gallery, this won’t affect you either way. And if you already made the change so long ago you forgot, you’re good.

So...what's going to happen to the legacy shops of users that aren't on the site anymore? Do the items just disappear?
I understand bookmarks (and would rather not clog mine up with this) but thanks. I'm asking for it because it should have already been provided as promised. The move was supposed to already have taken place, and the things that led to delaying it are a lot more recent than the announcement. There's really no reason for the link to not be somewhere accessible already, but it would be nice if they could still fix it.
Users shouldn't be having to do this stuff. Users shouldn't have to be providing all this info, or reassuring people because staff keeps posting in an obscure corner of the forums designed explicitly for very minor updates (meant to be pinged for) and not using the ping groups or just, you know, the announcements forums/news.
