I was going to address the tonal issue but concluded it was a fruitless game of "he said, she said." I can deny having "a tone" all day and you'll keep perceiving that I have one because, judging by that response, your mind is made up so why bother? Besides, my conclusion was the same: it's not an excuse for you to attack me, try to stifle my opinion the way you did--pardon me for being colorful about that--and that the wiser thing to do in this case was to step back, cool off and address the issue more calmly rather than knee-jerk to something that may not be there. (Especially if your goal is to correct someone into behaving a way that you prefer.) Just some friendly advice, of which, I am done offering.

As someone who loves making birdy boy HAs I adore the new bird feet, they look so much more like a real thing that could be on the HA body.

I'm hoping that the and (etc) get a revamp soon! Right now the only good back wings on the site tend to be CWs or meant for very specific birds and I'd love some good wings I can afford.

LMAO, "curb stomp my argument out of existence", that's a new one. Funny, considering I said ... 2, 3 times? That it was fine to have an opinion and clarified that that wasn't my issue with you. I'll reiterate though, in case you missed it! Having an opinion is fine, and everyone has them! In fact, get this, I do like the size and design of the old items more! I felt the art was due for an update, but I liked the larger talons too. But, nah, you don't get to ask me to explain myself to you and then attack me for explaining myself to you. Not to mention, what I said wasn't an opinion, aside from maybe the shake lines statement. Subeta doesn't make items in the same art style as the pre-vamp bird boots. That is a fact. That's what makes the art dated. It represents a style that Subeta has moved away from. You asked for me to back up my argument, and I did.

But long story short, literally none of that even matters, as - again, I already stated this but will reiterate - my issue with you wasn't that you had an opinion, Jasper. Not that you felt the art was better before. It was the way you were and are behaving.

Except I didn't say for them to never be revamped, just that I don't want the bird beaks and suits in the same style as the boots and that the boots need to go back for another take. As for presenting opinions as fact; you did that as well and backed it up with the ad poplum fallacy but let's say you're right and I did do as you say; that's not an excuse for your behavior. You don't need nor have a right to attack me and try to curb stomp my opinion out of existence because of that perception, especially if your logic is "the majority is against you." Clearly I have the losing vote so what does it matter? Perhaps next time you should stop yourself before reacting to a perceived threat and take a minute to examine the situation.

I'm assuming the slip-ons were intentionally updated to look more like Toms than Keds? This makes me a little sad because I liked the chunky bottoms and bold colors, but also I gather Toms are more fashionable these days, so it makes sense. I do think that in the resizing the lineart got a little too soft on them, regardless of style preferences, and there might be a bit at the toe and tongue on the far foot, where the color is bleeding.

I'm very excited to see the Shinwa and Maleria items brought into the modern style!

I think one reason the bird legs are coming across more as dinosaur legs to some people, is the thickness that the legs have to be to work with the HA base. Bird legs are usual pretty slender, but since the HA has thicker legs than a bird, the boots have to be thicker to fully cover the legs. Birds are basically modern day dinosaurs, so it really does bother me. ;)

Thanks for the revamps. Love the Shinwa/Maleria updates; not really sold on the shoes. And really not a fan of the change done to the bird boots; could there be a middle ground (as some have suggested) where the bird boots could be morphable between dino and bird?

i wish the bird boots would look more like actual bird feet and not weird-ish T-rex feet o.o nice revamps though :D i especially like the Maleria/Shinwah items -and their overlays :) And especially the dresses, wig, and wings (even though I'm not usually wearing wings)

I love the art on the new bird boots! :-) The old ones were quite bulky and disproportionate to the rest of the body, and the old art style was a bit jarring next to the newer wearables on the site. I would have loved to use them more before, but they just clashed too much with the current art style. That's also the reason I avoid using most of the beaks and cloaks, and I make gryphon HAs almost daily. The hawk beak is the only one I really can use regularly. Now I will actually get some use out of the bird boots that were collecting dust in my wardrobe! <3

I was really confused about the shoes until I saw the comparison with the originals. I thought they were totally new. A little torn bc on the one hand they DO look great. But now they look more like slippers to me.

Also I don't understand why the style of the Shinwa dress was changed. Again the art looks GREAT but I wish it would have kept the halter style top. Especially since now the gold bit looks out of place, like someone just clipped it on there for some reason. It made more sense being attached to the straps.

Also while I do like the revamped bird boots, I think I actually prefer the older style--I don't mean the art style but just the overall look, like what a few other people have said already.

But even having said that, the revamps are still definitely huge improvements over the old versions, and I really like them overall. I especially love the Maleria robe.

The part of your comment I took issue with most was the tone in general. Presenting that the old ones are better as a statement of fact and requesting that no more items be updated came across as self-centered to me, and like a reprimand to the artists and staff of the site. As for the art being dated, the old overlays had shaky lineart and were relatively uneven all around, and represent a style that Subeta has long since moved away from. When all new items on site are in an entirely different art style, the old art becomes dated. Some people may prefer it, and that's just fine! But the way your comment was worded, it sounded like you were claiming the new art was - factually and technically - worse overall, and that was what I took issue with. Again, opinions and preferences are fine - everyone has them - but the way you worded your complaint seemed unreasonable to me.

Thanks for these revamps, they were super needed. Though I do have to agree the muted colors on the flats make me sad, the brightness of the originals was great and I wish they would have kept it. The rest is A+ tho.

I don't like that the shoes became more muted (HOT PINK IS BETTER DAMNIT), and they have an overall color bleed around the lineart. But other than that, 10/10 love it all.

I'm loving the Maleria gloves, I've always hoped those would get updated, I can't wait to use them! The lines seem a lil blurry to me on the shoes though. ;__;

To be fair they said "in this style", it's not that they couldn't be updated, just that the style they went with is super different. It's fair enough feedback.

I'm not really sure what the point of your comment is, because despite saying I'm entitled to my opinion, you're simultaneously shooting me down for it and using ad poplum to either shame me or artificially bolster your point. (Which are the only reasons why one would bring it up.) Most people agree with whatever decision the staff makes. It's par for the course, so it's not much of an argument. The only genuine counter argument you have is that you feel the art is dated; care to explain how and would you mind explaining how these are an improvement?

In my opinion, the old ones are superior because they actually look like bird feet (and can easily be that of a dinosaur as well, if they just added some more colors to the set.) I don't see how the line art is dated or how this line art is better, because again, it makes the limbs look too fat and additionally, the details too light and I didn't even notice the anatomical issues of the revamp. Thanks for making me look twice. Maybe if they hadn't bothered to narrow the scales at the knee, it wouldn't look so bad but I can't help but prefer the anatomy and look of the original; they're at an appropriate height, look like they're actually putting weight on the ground, don't look overly fat and I really loved the size of the talons; since most of these are supposed to be predatory birds, it made sense. Now they all have sparrow claws. :(

Perhaps a compromise would be to have both versions on the site, somehow? Maybe revamp the old ones into being "dino feet" and adding those extra colors while we're at it? Just a thought.

Love the new item image for the bird boots (fun!), but much preferred the older wearable with the larger claws & thicker scales(?) on the front. The updated art is nice, the change in the way they are? Not so much.

These new ones almost look webbed, like sea-monster feet or something, with what I'm guessing are thick pad/paw. But, the tops/side make them look more like a patterned boot, instead of being feet. :( (&, yeah, I know that they're called "boots" but they were more of feet before.) These, at least, look like they'll work more with other foot wearables I guess. [sub]It's kind of funny; it's sort of the opposite of what happened when my beloved stockings got revamped! ha.[/sub]

Change is bound to happen on a site that's been around for as long as Subeta has. The boots were dated, and a lot of people would have the opposite opinion as you and say they were unusable before. You're entitled to your opinion, but staff and artists have to look out for the majority over a couple of individuals. Most items that are getting revamped are items that were requested to be. If you don't like the new items ... don't use 'em, I guess? Progress can't be halted just because a handful of people are dissatisfied with a revamp, though.

Wow, the shoes look pretty much completely different now. But they did need a revamp, that old art was looking like super old.

The Maleria and Shinwa stuff looks much better now too!

Why did you revamp the bird boots? They were perfectly fine (and looked better) before the revamp. Now they seem overly fat for bird feet now; it's the reason why I never used the Raven Claws.

Please don't revamp the bird suits and beaks in this style. Please. I also think these ones need to go back and be revamped again. I'm never going to use them now.

I like how they have been improved and brought up to date, but sympathetically, not completely changed. Thank you I always am happy to see older items given a make-over.
