Same here DebiLee. XDD Not only did I get my Dusk Sheeta, but I got a Chibi Antlephore as well, and I know someone who recieved a Graveyard Telenine from it. I think.

I am all for it. If people are abusing the system, change it. Perhaps this could also get some sP flow in. People have LE elixirs, people buy them. The people with the elixirs invest in other things. sP makes the Subetian World go round!

Could we have certain days, and times where like 30 of a certain LE Pet is realeased?

Thank you, Kieth, for making a stand, even though some will gripe about it. I can see how it will disappoint some, but you're right that you can't let people abuse the system that way. Kudos to you.

As Keith said, most people actually buy their GA's for 55K sP. The extra plays of Random and extra quests will easily make much more than the 55K back in a month, plus the use of custom avatar. They're were fairly frequent posts in the Shoutbox where someone would say "I really want a Sheeta (or other limited pet) but I don't have a Gold Account" and then someone else would come in and say "Oh! I have a Gold Account so I'll go create one and abandon it so that you can get it" And then the UA's have to come in and say that that's not permitted and explain why. This solves the problem of too many what were supposed to be very limited pets on the site; I fully support it. (My own Dusk Sheeta is a color/species change Zapper pet; it can still give the Limited Editions, at least at present).

Dang... The LE pets were the only reason I was going to get a GA. Apart from the fact you can get 10 pets with a GA I can't see anything good about buying one now...

I know that Gold Account users may specifically pay for this feature (And I will mention that generally it seems that the same people buy gold accounts, 80% of users with them bought them for 55k)

However, when something is abused, I have to fix it. My first job is to keep the site running, and to have a balanced economy. That cant happen if the limited edition pets are being thrown around all over the place.

I must say I agree with Elementallis to a degree. A business can't really take away features from their 'special' or 'premium' type accounts without upsetting at least SOME customers. I know I personally didn't care much about that part of GAs, but if others were getting aa GA specifically for that reason, it would be best if they DID say so, so Keith and company can see what impact their decision may have on funding the site.

Hopefully the platinum account system is still in the works, and perhaps the access to making limited pets can be a feature can buy individually if it is important to them.

I wasn't aware that people were abusing the system, and it saddens me that people would do that to the point of it becoming an issue that Keith had to deal with.
hugs my Telenines That was originally the reason I got a GA, to be able to make a Telenine.... okay, well, more than one, but I kept them all. I think many new users, loooking to get a GA for the first time will find this rather disapointing, I know it certainly woould have taken me ages longer to make Kes and Sek what they are now if I had to buy Telenine elixirs as well as the potions.
Which, as several others pointed out, is it possible to add in some of the other Telenine elixir colors now? As there are currently only common, Bloodred, Field, and Sun... and they are all very rare and expensive.

I didn't know people where abusing this system,I got a GA to adopt a sheetah,but I'm still in favor for this. If you really want a pet,you can easely get an elixir if you play anough games and try hard anough to restock.

I don't think GA won't be bought anymore,since there are alot of wonderfull features that you can still get

Oh thats bad...I was thinking if I should get a Sheeta or not :/ Hmm oh well, I'm all for stoppind abusers but I do think that when you get a GA you should have the possiblility of being able to adopt 1 limited pet. So like everytime you buy I new GA you have the chance of getting another limited pet? I don't think that feature should be taken away, because thats what a lot of people get GAs for! And the 1 LE Pet per GA seems fair...well at least it does to me!

Wow, the moment I saw this I knew it would become a huge controversial issue. I know a few people that were abusing this system, whether unintentionally or not, and I truly didn't like it.

I've had three limited edition pets over the course of my time here, first a swampie that I zapped into a sheeta, anmd antlephore where I got an elixir from my friend and a kerubi that I got through an elixir... haha, I never even adopted one...

There are plenty of ways to get limited edition pets, you just have to look hard enough.

I support this completely...

I agree, this does indeed bite. XD Majority of GA users were good users, and non abusers. Thanks a lot to whoever did this. checks shops for antlephore elixirs Urg, great, they're all gone now. sob There does need to be colored limited edition pet elixirs, like the sheeta elixirs were realesed, so now they need to get the telenines, antlephores, and other pets that are LE withough elixirs out for sale. We are really going to need them now.

But last but not least, thank you to staff for getting the situation under control, now there shouldn't be any other way for non GA users to have GA features, which wasn't fair to the rest of us.

I'm glad that something was done to stop the abusing. Although I would hope that the staff would make elixirs for all the limited edition pets at least for the common color. And also make more of the limited pet elixirs that are already existing. Don't count on the zapper though. All that gives you are swampies and darkonites mostly.

I didn't know people were abusing this. It's too bad for people that didn't abuse the GA got it taken away from them. But I completely understand. Maybe people will think twice before trying to abuse anything in the future.

I totally support this choice, now the GA people and normal users will all get an equal chance at those pets when they become adoptable. Now we won't have to see a ton of cybills floating in the pound. Though no matter what I must curse those abusers of anything on this site, games are one thing as that can be fixed, but pets?!?! What were they thinking? After all pets adopting codes can't be fixed to prevent this as then no one could get any kind of pet. But I fully agree with this choice and no other as even then how do you know if those people wouldn't just try selling the pets that they can make even if it's only a few?

How am I, when stating a fact about how this situation may effect MY personal opinions and actions regarding this site, attemping to 'indirectly blackmail' anyone? 0_o

The fact is, a drop in new gold accounts - and thus, a drop in funding - is an obvious possible outcome from this change, seeing how one of the main bonus of having a gold account is being able to get L.E. pets.
You had no reason to assume that i was attempting to 'blackmail' anyone, and frankly, I am insulted by it.

I HATED the abuse of this, it really made me want to kick people but now I'm so sad it's gone :/
I was gonna make a sheeta and another kerubi (two of my most fav species).
Blah, couldn't it have been made so when people abandon limited edition pets they just disappear? Or does that bugger up the database?

I think you should only be able to get them through limited release, or through the zapper, or elixirs This is a great idea - and makes the whole 'limited edition' not a redundant phrase anymore. Now you have to work to get the pet you want I'm way in support of this XD

Elementallis, that type of indirect black mailing won't work. In fact, it will probally just anger Keith. I wouldn't try anything like that.

Guys, whats done is done. Don't blame staff or Keith or anyone except the abusers, and don't take it out on staff. Not their fault we abused priveleges.

Did you HAVE to take it away completely? Don't you think you could make it so when a person buys a Gold account they get a limited number of free limited edition pet adoption...slips or something? That way people are less likely to waste their 'free passes' and just use them for themselves...at least the possible abuse would be more restricted/limited.

Also, did keith even take into account the likelyhood of gold account subscriptions dropping after this - thats potental Subeta founding that would be dissapearing because of this.

...heck, I may very well forget about buying a gold account myself after this.

Hopefully more limited pets will be released so you don't have to wait months and months for, oh lets say, Sheetas to be released, and then on the day you're not online, BAM they're released and all gone... I hate it when that happens.

Not all is lost.. but perhaps it'll only be those users who reeeeally want a certain limited species pet really badly, that'll bother working their butts off to get one now, instead of cheating. :3

one of the reasons i got the ga was to get limited pets.... i have certainly never abused it ...oh well.... to those of you who did abuse it......not happy with you!!! hope that there will be a way to get the limited pets ...
