- I love seeing the pictures of the old abandoned places, but for some reason amusement parks/carnivals are the ones that seem to interest me the most. It's sad to see those places close and even more interesting to see the mark they left on us in memory. This pet is actually sort of a 'tribute' to an old music box I still have at my mother's place that my grandma gave me. I remember when she gave it to me and it's so beautiful even still. It has a white carousel horse on it and I used to use it to play with my dolls growing up. She has since passed and carousel horses always make me think of her and what a beautiful person she was. And it's of course a reminder of our inevitable mortality.

- Oh man I love the Silent Hill games! And the scene with the dark carousel in 3 is so amazing. Definitely one of my favorites ^-^ Glad you enjoyed the story!

Awww, what a sad story... :( We used to have an amusement park near us just across the river in Memphis, TN, known as "Libertyland". However, around six or seven years ago was the last time it was opened, as it wasn't getting very many customers because of various things, and everything was taken down and moved to other places except for the Grand Carousel, which I heard was put into storage until they could find a place to put it and restore its beauty... Reading this story made remember those sad days when we learned of its closing and how I always would want to ride the White Tiger on that grand old Carousel.
