Quest-A-Thon: Coming Soon!!!

Are you ready to quest because we’re having another Quest-A-Thon! Starting at 12:00am on August 30th you will have until 11:59pm on September 14th to complete 1,250,000 quests as a team.

During this time, you will need to complete quests from the following quest givers to have them count: Blue Building, Carl, Cinthia, Mori or Nori, Alexander, Maleria, Pete, Quentin, Saggitarius, Sarah, and The Wizard. Just a reminder that regular users can complete 10 quests per quest giver and Gold Account users can complete 15 quests*.

*Blue Building quests are 5 quests a day for everyone.

Once the Quest-A-Thon starts, you’ll be able to see everyone’s progress with a status bar on the news page. If the goal is completed, everyone that has participated will receive 1 new pet slot, 1 account-bound exclusive wearable (Fashion Hoodie), and 1 exclusive challenger!

account bound avatar items are so problematic. everyone else seems to have made the point as to why i just would like to be noted as another user who is against this item being account bound. I doubt I will ever make an avatar that will use this jacket and to think I'm just going to have to delete it? wasteful!

Just in case numbers count, I'm chiming in with everyone who absolutely hates the idea of an account-bound item. This was one of the things I hated most about Poupee Girl when that was a thing, because I joined them 2 years after they opened and one of my favourite site items was an item that I could never own, and people who did have the item and didn't want it any more had to delete it to get rid of it when there were tons of people who would have done crazy things to get one.

In this case, I dislike it even more, because...well, look at my avatar. (It doesn't matter if I change my avatar after I write this. I've never made a single avatar in the history of ever who represented someone who would wear that jacket.)

I have absolutely no use for this item, and it kills me to delete it thinking of someone joining the site in 2019 who might desperately want it missing out when many people who have it won't ever use it.

If you are going to go down the road of making account-bound items, it would be better if they were a style that could be usable by anyone no matter what kind of avatars they prefer making.

A really nice layering piece that could be incorporated into all sorts of outfits, while it would definitely incite more envy, would be preferable to this loud, gaudy, very era-specific jacket, which is only usable by people who like to dress their avatars in 21st century urban styles and also like the design. Since my avatars all look like they can't decide if they're in the Magic Kingdom or Tomorrowland, that will not be me.

Yeah, I don't want to end up with a bunch of items I have no use for. I've always liked giving away stuff like that, so I'm really not concerned with profits or anything like that. And missing an item that you can not get otherwise is a great big turnoff for me, but my main concern was that I'm horribly indecisive. So, if I really like an item I always end up needing at least two copies if it's a wearable so that I can put in it my tc hoard as well.

Thank you for letting us know! Account-bound things aren't my favorite type of items, but I can appreciate that you guys are trying something new! (Really loooove that hoodie omg I can't wait xD )

We also have more time (two whole weekends for people who are normally too busy during the week), so we should be fine. We did the first time without needing the extension with only a week and in the middle of an event. I can't assume Staff won't be sneaky and add another event, but we have a lot more time.

There's no need to be negative before the even event starts.

We have 16 days to make the goal, that's a little under 80k quests per day. We only need somewhere between 550 and 850 users to do all of their quests every day (depending on if they have GAs or not) to be able to reach the goal.

There's usually somewhere around that amount of people online every day anyway, so I don't think it will be too hard.

i don't see the point of making the hoodie account bound. i hope this will be changed.

i also think the individual rewards should be based on effort. no matter what anyone says... a person doing a single quest and someone doing all of them getting the same reward (or none if we fail) is like, objectively unfair. i mean, come on.

I've never understood why people get so pressed about people only doing a couple of quests during these tbh. I know it seems annoying, but as long as we make it it doesn't really matter imo

if w're not gonna make it unless more people do it then get mad, by all means, but I don't really care if someone gets the same prizes with 1 quests that others do from hundreds, meh.

The extension was because of lag since they decided that doing a Jelly War and Quest-A-Thon at the same time was a fantastic idea. The site couldn't really handle both at the same time. I recall that we didn't even need the extension - we did it with a couple of minutes to spar.

No, account bounds won’t be the new norm. We wanted to do something different with this quest-a-thon!

You guys have met the goal every single time we’ve done a quest-a-thon. If you guys didn’t make it a time or two, I’d consider making you need to do more participation. But looking at the data on the backend, most people do more than just the 1 required. :)

Not a fan of the wearable so I'm not happy about the idea of it being account bound... As long as it doesn't become a regular thing, I can deal. (I just don't want to be stuck with a bunch of items I'll never use.)

Anyway, I'll definitely be participating because PET SLOT! I'm also excited about the release of a new challenger... [sup]But not as excited because as far as I am concerned nothing can compete with PET SLOT![/sup]

Controversial opinion but: Users should have to complete the equivalent of the full amount of one NPC's quests to qualify for the prize, instead of just doing 1 quest and then sitting on their butt the rest of the time. That means 10 quests in total. For as long as the quest-a-thons go on and for as quick as the quests take to complete, it's not an outrageous requirement by any standard.
