They look better with other wearables (thanks ), maybe it's just comparing it to the outdated HA base art that makes them look that way.

LMFAO the poor artists on this site can't do anything nice as far as updates go because there's always a 100+ comment news post thread about I DON'T LIKE THING!

TBH I'm happy the glaringly dark lineart is getting shifted away from. So many older pieces are unusable because they look garish and cartoony.

Kinda miss the old wig and frilly pants concepts, wish they would've just improved upon what was there instead of messing with the entire thing. The pink long-haired wig feels so limp on the avatar's head, and the top of the stray bobby pins' hair looks lumpy. I get what you're going for, but this looks strange.

Also, it is a complete tragedy to lose that old ghost.

Wow, for once, I'm on the the opposite end of the argument. XD I actually don't have a problem with the line art of these pieces but I do wish the pink wig retained it's vibrancy. It's been a problem with revamps since a year or so ago where you guys seemed hellbent on removing anything bright and vibrant. It's gotten to the point where vibrant pets struggle to have matching treasures because all the colors are so muted.

I don't know if it's out of some attempt to be more mature looking to outsiders or a repulsion of eye-burning colors but I do hope you can refrain from muting any other items from this point on.

That said, I love these revamps. The ghost, especially, looks great and oof, the original art of the Sophisticated Prom Dress; woof. Definitely needed a revamp and omg that Pretty Pastel Dress is just perfect. Overall, great, a little muted, have no idea what people are talking about with the line art tho, it look fine to me.

The rules for CW were just updated, and clearly state that "Your item and clothing image must have black lineart." Nice to see that the users are held to a higher standard than official Subeta artists.

Tons of old items look bad. All the mage amulets, for example, look worse than that ice cream. It's kind of a weird obsession to have, and you talk like they promised you personally to revamp it or something. <.<

I cannot for the life of me figure out why so many people are complaining and asking, "Where is the lineart?!" Every item looks so much better, more 3D-looking, more realistic, instead of being obviously drawn and flat. Great job to the artist(s)!

SOOO much better. It seems most here are blinded by nostalgia, which is unfortunate because I think these revamps are fine. I can see how the overall blurriness might be problematic, but as is it's still way better than the old. Tweaking the blurriness/lineart just a little would make it perfect.

The old blocky lineart is extremely outdated like all of the early internet references on this site. Looking at you, emo blob kitty.

Honestly not a fan of these, especially the Siren Song. I agree that the light/faint lines look pretty bad.

Does anyone have the old image for the Bobby Pins (the item itself, not the overlay) or was it just the overlay/hair that got revamped?

I sincerely like this liness style, it makes stuff more real, and it's a nice way to go but the items are too plain and lacking depht, still boring as before. The artist just have to use a less soft pb to do the outline keeping in mind that it will be resized and stuff, and give a little bit more glow to the items.

Whyyyy did I have to recently frag half of these because "Eww they're ugly"??? Anyway I like the lineless look. I agree the pants look a LITTLE funky around the edges, but still a great improvement on the hideous old version I refused to even have in my wardrobe

Me too! I love super fine grey outline best. It looks so natural than thick blocky black outline which is so dated as 90's. I also hope that they will update (revamp) the HA bodies too!

While I like (most) of the new items coming with this delicate lineart, my issue with them is that they look really really weird when matched with some old items which have like ten times thicker lineart. It's kinda limiting the choices in WR.

Ooh, I just nabbed the Stray Bobby Pins fairly recently hoping they'd get an update! Although...I guess I'm in a pretty small minority because I like the thin/nearly nonexistent lineart trend o^o I've been hoping the HA bases themselves would follow suit for a while now, too...hm.

Yeah, I think that was me, and I still stand by it. You can just tell that the artwork was fine (beautiful, in fact!) at the working resolution, then got messed up while resizing. This very same thing has happened to me loads of times, but there are ways around it. If the artist still has the original artwork in working resolution, it's a very easy fix.

I think these are lovely revamps, but this kind of blurry, too-thin lineart has been a noted problem for some new items for a while now, and I'm not sure why it hasn't been fixed?

I think last time this came up (on a different set of revamps, iirc) someone pointed out that it was likely not even a problem with the initial art, just a problem with the algorithm used for downscaling. Unfortunately I don't recall the specifics.

I feel like it's really noticeable on the Pretty Pastel Dress out of this batch, where I can tell there was more detailing and it's just been blurred to nothing in the resizing process.

I want to be clear that I don't think this is even an art problem so much as a technical problem? I think these are lovely items and this artist does good work, it's just ending up as something that doesn't mesh with other site items well.

I don't wear clothes on my HA so can't comment on that aspect of the revamps, but I agree with all the lineart comments. In my very unexpert judgment, the lineart on most of the item images looks like it would get them rejected if they were submitted as CWs.

I liked the old Toy Ghost just for the Internet 1.0 nostalgia factor lol, and I had sorta hoped it wouldn't get revamped for that reason... but the new one's cute, and I see why it had to be done. (Its lineart still looks grey and not black though!)

100% on board with the Siren Song though! It looks SO much better, and re an earlier comment, I don't think it should be any delicate handbell. It needs to be something sturdy and loud to be heard on a ship, and the description even calls it a "simple bell." There are fancy handbells on the site already, and I like this clunky lil' guy.

...heck I just talked myself into buying one for no good reason.

Yeaaaah, I am all for revamps but I agree with a lot of people here that the soft gray lineart just doesn't work. It makes things look old and blurry.
