Friendly Thursday: Johannes

Are you here for the latest Goodbye Virelai music? Let me just take a 'minuet' to find that for you. Ha! Of course I have it right here. What's that? You'd like sheet music to Horns and Roses? They never did 'measure up' to my tastes, but to each their own.

Johannes may not be the most harmonious shopkeeper to talk with, and you have to excuse his many puns, but he does know his music. He isn't one to become involved in things outside of the music world so it can be difficult to get to really know him, although it's been whispered that a nice hot pretzel can really change his tone.

There is one thing that will not put you in Johannes' good music books, though. If you can figure out what it is, then beware! If you can figure out what unlocks him, Johannes is a challenger that will really get you in treble.

Once you unlock Johannes, he will appear in the Secret Tab. Unlocking Johannes is not limited to just this month like with our Throwback Challengers. While we'll continue releasing a challenger on the second Thursday, you'll have plenty of time to unlock them.

I think those having trouble are accidentally purchasing the viola instead of the violin. I had a friend test a violin and it worked on the first try as well so that is the only explanation I can come up with.

Fragging a Grazia Violin on its own worked for me. It was the first one I tried (was late to the party and started by reading other people's spoilers lol) but I had two others in my inventory. I think it might be different for each user which one works or something like that

Are you sure it was the Violin and not a Viola? You don't have to buy one from the shop exclusively, it can be from the user shop search.

I just had a friend test the Sonora Violin and it worked, so we know that fragging any one of these items: will unlock Johannes :D

It could very well be the Bravia Violin only. I can't recall which one I fragged, but the others who were helping me come up with the solution said they only needed to frag one violin.

i think...

seems you have to frag (A) all violins (prima, sonora, brava, and grazia) OR (B) a specific one of them (i believe brava, the implication being it's the same type johannes is holding)

I love that we get these extra opponents. I just wish sometimes the drops might have something in them that deals with actual battling. It could even be a new book to read to our pets. I am not saying every time, but it seems like even the ones we pay 250csc for don't have any battle related items anymore either. It's probably just me being a piss baby. :P Any-hoot good luck everyone and enjoy your battling! :)
