Revamped Items

Old post is old but, man, what happened? I can understand updating the art style but you did remove a lot of the personality from each and every one of these items.

The Vampire Trenchcoat went from ANIME to something generic you could buy at Hot Topic. The Candied Monochromatic Wig is so dull, lifeless and more solid. It looks molded instead of styled. What happen to the hair wisps? The funny hat went from a top hat to a fedora, WHY? And the amulet now looks like it's made of plastic.

The only real improvements here are the wigs and the dress. Everything else is going to have to be redone again at some point.

The old vampire one was totally outdated, I don't know why people are complaining about how it lost its personality. The new one looks completely cool now and more "vampire" like, honestly, no body used the old one any way, it used to look so so tacky and bulky and exactly like the other colored trench coats. Great improvement, I love the item so much now.

I like this idea. Then everyone would be happy and no one'd have to fear a revamp :) Not sure how it'd work for wearables, though, but still..

Also yeah, the description for the Muffin makes no sense now that it's just a normal muffin and not a living muffin. Add me to the group of people that thinks the trenchcoat lost a lot of personality in the revamp, too - I LOVE the new one, but it's just not the same. Like, I love it as its own separate item, but as a revamp it's kind of lacking. If that makes sense?

Maybe all revamped items should become changeable items. You can choose between the new and the old versions? Then no one has any cause to complain ever. ♥

Although I know it won't change a thing I'll add my voice and say that the vampire trenchcoat is a very sad change. It has no character, it's grey, and looks like it's covered in lace rather than chain. The lines are almost nonexistent and I'm so disappointed. I don't like it any more. Some of these revamps were exceptional and the art style is certainly better but I hate how it lost its character and style. I'll probably never use it again.

The overlays appear "blurry" on my screen (especially the wigs). Is this due to thin line art or was image quality lost somewhere along the line during submission? Is someone looking into this?

Great job on the revamps, just hard to look at due to the blurriness! Would love to enjoy them when the images look "crisper".

I am really sad that the Delectable Strawberry Sundae lost the curls it had. I always loved this wearable for the curls. I mean, the new version is lovely in color, but it is more wavy than curly. I also agree with others about the Candied wig needed more vibrant pink. I always loved that bright pink!

Why is everyone saying that there was a face on the questionable muffin? That was a guy hair, the image was a sack or something. Someone posted the wearables before they were revamped. I don't see a face. lol Anyways.... 99% of the time I like the revamps. When the art gets old, it looks straight up cartoonish. So, I actually love the revamp of the Candied Mono wig, I must be loving it, b/c I just paid 50 mill for it. lol It was my first fave wig when I started playing almost 10 years ago, but I stopped using it, b/c it did not fit with the amazing quality of cs and cw's. So, happy to put it back in my wardrobe and start using it again. Thanks to the artists and everyone who keep this ship afloat. <3<3<3

oh man, the art style of the Delectable Strawberry Sundae, Questionable Muffin, etc use to be my favorite on the site, I'm going to miss them, but they definitely didn't fit in with most wardrobe items these days so I knew this day would come eventually. quietly hides the entire skankpop line

The candied wig doesn't look very much candied, since more of the pink is gone. I feel it looks....muddy. Not a fan of that shading.

And man, the lines on everything are far too thin. Items, and OVERLAYS. That shouldn't be a thing.

Is the trenchcoat even a trenchcoat any more? It looks more like a regular jacket.... and so dull. I didn't have much attachment to the rest, but that one is kinda worse.

I'm quite disappointed with the changes to the Vampire Trenchcoat and the Amulet of life. They both have lost a lot of their original crisp detail, and look flat, vague and blurry to me now. The wigs however are all awesome improvements, and it's nice to see the mascara finally wearable.

nice revamps - much needed too. the trench coat ... makes me sad. i don't like how it stays so close to the body, almost suffocating the HA.

i hope to see more clothes without a lineart ;)

The new wigs do look very soft and undefined looking, as others are saying. Not in a bad way, in my opinion, though. They have an almost ethereal quality to them. I am kinda disappointed that it clashes style-wise with mostly every other wardrobe item, but that doesn't mean I'm yearning for a black outline! I just want more things to match this light, feathery look! I just can't wait to see if we get a few more softer looking items to kind of match this style, even if it's not what the current rules dictate.

While the artwork is definitely a huge improvement, I like many users am really confused by the outline choice on some of the wigs? I thought it was a rule that all items, wearable included, have to have a defined black outline? It's certainly a rule for submitting custom wearables, and it seems really odd that the guidelines aren't applied to official items. It makes the wigs look really faded in contrast to the rest of the avatar. The art itself is gorgeous, I just feel like the outline should be a bit more solid.

Do you know what would be neat? If Caramel-Topped Soft-Serve was transformable.

Have this basic cup with no headband. Have the same cup, but with a striped sleeve, that has the headband. Someone out there probably misses it.

Okay I thought the new vampire trenchcoat had lace-lined pockets instead of chains at first. And it's so much more dull now. I still like it, I just wish it was shinier and that the chains actually looked like chains.

Caramel-Topped Soft-Serve still looks weird to me but I think mostly I just don't care for the hairstyle. And it doesn't really look anything like the original.

The Questionable Muffin not only is missing its face, but also there's no red in it anymore? But that was my favorite part! It also completely lost its volume.

And the Black Wig was FINALLY updated! It just looked so horrible before, and I've been waiting so long. Too bad I actually got rid of mine because after a while I figured it would never be updated.

Everything else looks great, though I can see where people are coming from with the complaints. I do wish the Candied Monochromatic Wig still had the same amount of pink and that the Delectable Strawberry Sundae had a closer style to the original and more contrast, but they still look good and definitely more usable than before.

i don't think these are bad but i do think they're inconsistent with the artwork of a majority of wearables i actually do like the redesign of the trenchcoat a lot (although i have a little beef that it's grey now instead of black. it's the VAMPIRE trenchcoat and it's grey? dudes. come on.)

as lots of people have said already: the wigs are way too soft, it's like they're from a different place than the other items since they usually have a black lineart? it looks weird like they don't belong to the same game idk

Delectable Strawberry Sundae is now just frizzy it's lost its locks :( Questionable Muffin lost its volume that was my fave thing about it..... Candied Monochromatic Wig no longer has its goth loli feeling with the boom two color curls and black ribbons :c

I have to throw my support in with the people who miss the swoosh of the vampire coat. It looks nice, but I liked that character and now it's gone. Everything else is lovely.

The Black Wig, Formal Dress, Mascara, Amulet of Life, and Very Silly Hat are great improvements. While I like the update for how the wig of Questionable Muffin looks, I think the muffin should have kept the cute face. I like the Vampire Trenchcoat update except I think it should be a new item entirely and that the old Vampire Trenchcoat gets an update that keeps the same style as the old one (the dramatic flair). Caramel-Topped Soft-Serve DESPERATELY needed an update and I actually like the item now. However, I do understand why some would be upset it lost the headband. Maybe if the item was transformable to a version with the headband or without? The Delectable Strawberry Sundae item looks too round to me. I prefer the old one. The wig is gorgeous, but I do understand why people would be upset it's more wavy than curly now. Candied Monochromatic Wig is the item that lost most of its character. There might as well not even be pink in it. I also miss the bows and how the side of the bangs were longer and turned more outwards at the end. I agree with others that a lot of the line work is too thin.

Okay, so here are my thoughts. deep breath With the exception of the questionable muffin, undoubtedly these items needed revamps.

However, as a fellow artist I feel the need to point out that there seems to be a technical issue here. I can tell that the art was beautiful. Was. These overlays are far too soft, like maybe bicubic smoother was used for resampling when sizing down. It's not only the lineart; overall the clarity seems lost. This is most recognizable in the formal dress (check out the ribbon area.) Would it be possible to check that over and resubmit, or is the wardrobe system too complicated to make such quick fixes?
