Im surprised how much I like her, I wasnt a fan of the original art looking so young, Lava did an amazing job aging her up but keeping it like Ursas design.

Are beanbags all thag size :0? I always pictured they were beanbag chairs, or small like beanie babies.

Seriously though, great collab between the site and original artist. I need those darn clothes they are so perdy.

I love having diverse characters, but I find her shop of choice a little ironic.. :/ Bean bags are like the hardest things ever to get out of! It seems like it would be 100x harder for someone with challenged mobility. :(

skdjsdk sorry i havent had time to write something longer ive been so busy i wanna die ;-; (also i hope im not gonna hijack this thread although maybe i am)

thank you so much Subeta Team for making Shanti such a wonderful addition to the site! ;-; the art is lovely, her backstory is lovely, and im so excited that she gets to represent a possibly under-represented community and bring attention to those who are disabled physically, as well of those who have gorgeously darker skin.

there are comments that have been brought up by others that i would like to talk about, not to attack anyone (im sorry if youre still offended though, theres nothing i can do if so T.T), just to clarify things!

art style - she does look older than my sketch ahaha! but that actually is a problem with my own art style :'D (also iirc conceptually i gave her the age of 23?) i struggle to diversify faces and generally how people look, and all my characters look like kids WEEPS. so im glad the Subeta Team managed to bring out what i couldnt! :333
backstory - understandably, this is a PG-13 site, so i never expected the more darker aspects of her concept backstory to appear onsite. i finally understand my mistake of looking like i was tying her worth to what she could do. that was never my intent, it was just how i too tend to measure my own self worth by my abilities, and i guess i thought it was normal. it shouldnt be normalised! i need to learn so much! but beyond that, i love how the Subeta Team expanded her story to blend her in better to the character building of the world here!

but anyway, im super grateful to everyone who pinged me or commented or posted anywhere else to congratulate and/or speak up for me (knowing im busy and all, you guys are the best), thank you so much! ;-; but now Shanti is her own story, nobody has to associate her with me anymore since even if it was significant, realistically i just did a small part! it is the community and staff here that really brought her to life! yay for new beginnings, opening eyes and hearts, and for more stories to come! v

The artwork is amazing!! :o And I love her hair.

I also really appreciate the artist aging her up. The original artwork was very cute, but she looked like a young child and was described to be around the same age as Sephora and Qazim.

I can't get over how wonderfully drawn she is. :)

Beautiful art, both the original design and the final product! I noticed on the subetapedia page, Shanti is "reliant on a wheelchair." Could this be reworded to say she uses a wheelchair? "Reliant," "confined," and other terms like these are often used to describe someone's use of a wheelchair, which gives off the idea that wheelchairs are restrictive when in fact, they allow for freedom and independence! Please consider altering this.

You guys have no idea how much this means to me. I've gone through years of my life where it's bad enough no one else has ever heard of it, but it's also a disease many DOCTORS have never heard of. I'm constantly having new physicians ask, "What's that?" and it's so aggravating trying to explain it's why my back is so messed up.

I love the color of that striped shirt/tunic thing that she has on. :d Her expression is quite nice too; she's quite the visually interesting person/character.

Other than that: so, beanbags are that size? Strange. I imagined that they were either much smaller than that, or were, like, comically large. (something so stupidly large that why would any sane person have a collection of hundreds of them? haha.)

Also thank you for aging her up: though I could appreciate what was intended and communicated in the original design, there'd be plenty of issues with presenting a potentially vulnerable young character to an entire user-base that is largely agreeable but which certainly holds some people who will make gross issues. It's safer this way and sensible.

She's fantastic in all of the stages of her design! I'm glad that she was ultimately chosen if only because I'm eager to see how she connects with the characters and lore that already exists on this site. True congrats you've done some great and thoughtful character prep. here!

I LOVE her design. Great choice in aging her up. I agree re: pity party comment. The art is amazing, great job on the designs. I want a beanbag like the one Shanti is holding!

Also I love the new more "random" beanbags.. we've had a slew of pet related ones lately, glad to see some variety!!!
