Black Friday Sale Annoucement

Our annual Black Friday sale in the Cash Shop will start on November 20th this year and last through the month. You'll have from November 20th through November 30th at 11:59pm to load up on sale goodies! We'll be bringing back lots of old items and debuting some brand new ones! The old items will be retired again after the sale.

As per usual, we will not price match items purchased before the Black Friday sale. Don't mistakenly buy something before the sale expecting to be refunded the difference!

Custom Wearables will be discounted 25% off of their listed price! We are also implementing a small change to the way commissions work during sales. In most cases, the CW creator will still get the same commission they would normally get, but if an item is priced where the commission would be larger than the amount paid for the item, the CW creator will only receive the amount paid for the item instead. This is so a base 500 CSC item cannot be priced at 10k CSC, giving a commission of 9500 CSC with only 7500 CSC paid for it, for example. In that case, the CW owner would only receive the full 7500 CSC payment instead. The CW Pawn Shop will also be open during Black Friday!

As we've mentioned previous years, these are no longer included in the Black Friday sale: pet slots, pet name changes, username changes, and pet overlays. As per usual, monthly collections, weapons, and CS challengers will not be discounted.

You don't have to change the prices at all regarding the discount. If your wig normally sells at 700, you will get the same amount of CSC profit you normally would, but the price in the shop will display as 525 CSC for buyers, without you having to change the price at all.

If you went in and changed the price to 525 CSC, the price in your shop would display as something like 394 CSC and you would only get 25 CSC profit (which should not be possible for a wig iirc).

If you wanted your item to still be sold at 700 CSC, you would have to go in and change the price to 934 CSC, but it's much more common just to temporarily lock the items you don't want sold at a discount.

Hello! I hope it is okay for me to answer :) If your items are normally priced at 700csc in the CW shop, during black friday they will be discounted to 525 so that's how much people will pay (25% off, it'll appear for that price when people visit your shop), when people buy your CWs you will get 200csc profit, which is the usual profit you'd get even when the item is not on sale! <-- This is what will happen if you don't alter your usual prices for the BF sale

If you were to price it so that AFTER 25% discount the price is 700csc, you'd have to price it at around 933csc (as 25% off that is 700), which means that you'll get 433csc as profit! The buyer will still have to pay 700csc then.

Hope that sorta clears things up a little? :D

Hmmm... now I am confused again, but it's ok. Maybe I just won't do anything in my CW shop with the sale since I don't get it. Or I'll just make the items regular price and it is what it is. If I make a wig that normally sells at 700 remain at 700, does the buyer pay the 700 or do they get a discount after purchase?

Please don't change the day it opens. I understand changing the hours to benefit the european consumers but I rather have one day of harsh lag and then the team working on fixing it instead of two days of harsh lag before fixing. And then Fireside is coming up too right? Just rather limit the amount of bandaids I'll rip off ^^;

The items in the Cash Shop get discounted by 50%. There is no CSC bonus weekend this month, nor any other kind of CSC discount. GAs, CSC cards, and the items listed as exclusions in the news post will not be discounted.

The CW section of the pawn shop was added a few years back as somewhere to buy and sell CWs cheaply. If you pawn an item, you get 100-300 CSC for it depending on what category of items it's in, but as of I want to say about a year ago? The shop is no longer open to buy from. CWs inside the shop cost 300-600 CSC iirc. So yes, some of them usually can be cheaper than the usual going rate. I don't know exactly how the price is formulated off hand anymore. But since it's been locked off, no one knows what's inside. Sometimes in the past you could find a really nice item occasionally, but now there could be anything inside. So it's not just the price, it's about the fact that people have been dumping items in it all this time and no one knows what's in it :) I hope that's somewhat clear haha

I think it would be fair to let us know in advance of when it's going to come live because it seriously does suck for Europeans - if we at least know it's going live at like 2am or whatever we can set an alarm, have a quick peek instead of getting it behind everyone else :c If you put it up in the evening of the next day when part of the initial CS lag has died, would that work :(?

I have been looking forward to the pawn shop again. When you dont have but a little money as hubby is disabled it sure helps when anything is cheaper and I know I cant get much but happy for anything I can buy :)

Unfortunately, and I both have day jobs and are on West Coast time. We’re setting up as much as we possibly can ahead of time (programming, lists of what we’re bringing back, etc) so it will be a very quick transition. In the past, it would take about an hour when we’d take the Cash Shop down to add in everything because we were deciding as we went. On that Monday, I plan on going into work a little earlier so I can leave and go to a coffee shop with my laptop close by (I get out at like 1-2pm my time). Even if we didn’t have work, we’d still be releasing in the evening because that’s when we have the most users online (it’s why we release Holidays that time too). If for some reason it looks like the actual sale won't come out until much later in the evening, we might push the Pawn Shop to open the next day in the early evening. :) We'll be as open and transparent as possible on the day of!

Please please please put a cooldown in the pawn shop. I anticipate that area being a bit of a mad house dash. That way people have to be thoughtful in what they snag so it doesn't end up in there again and allows more than a handful chance at some possibly good pawns.

That's not quite right either. If your item is currently priced at 1000 CSC, the site will discount it 25%. You'll still make the same profit you would off of a 1000 CSC sale (which I think should be 500 minimum, depending on the category?) but the buyer will only be paying 750 for it. If you drop your item to the minimum price, say 600 for a 2500-category item, you're still only going to make the 100 CSC for it that you normally would (but the buyer pays 475)

OHHHH yes, that cleared it up! The subeta team is trying to stop people from abusing the sale system in user CW shops. Basically I can discount the item as low as the price will let me go and I will still make the same amount as if it were priced at it's original sale value, correct? That is all they are saying with that confusing paragraph? lol Thank you for the info (and to you too ❤️❤️❤️).

Maybe it would be slightly less confusing if I were not having a migraine.... though I doubt it lol

Haha true, window shopping is a big part of it. The reason I suggested it is because instead of someone constantly refreshing right after they bought something, to line up all the other things they want to buy, it forces a bit of a "hunt" for items each time which is fun in its own way.

So let's say I put a CW wig in my shop. Wigs are in the 2,500 category which means it is a base 500 item. If I price that wig at 10,000 CSC and I buy it from my own shop at that price, due to there being 25% off for Black Friday, the purchaser (me, in this case) would only have to pay 7,500 CSC. However, since I am buying from my own shop I would also be making 9500 CSC in commission. That would mean that each time I buy a 10k item from my own shop I am actually making 2000 CSC from the site in addition to getting the item I'm buying. So, instead of making 9,500 CSC as commission from each item, I will only receive 7,500 so as not to abuse the system.

I hope that cleared it up! And I also hope that my math and logic is right lol

Not really worried if people can see the item as long as the pause enforces a bit of restraint, like the free shop, subeautique, and token shop where you can eye the items but can't take them till the time's up. After all, RL black friday is partly about the window shopping. ^_6

Ah ok, so if I submit a CW that normally costs 5,000 CSC then it will be discounted so my submitting cost is reduced? Does this count for direct to shop submissions?

Oh that's a great idea! I think having it like the DC would be good too. Where it's a ~5 minute wait (or however long) and you can't see items in there until the timer is done. It would certainly prevent one person from buying ALL the most wanted CWs and hoarding them. What do you think ?

Coming back to first thank you guys for starting Black Friday early and having span for 10 days.<3 I'm already calculating how, when, where, and what to buy without seeing exactly what's being offered. ?

Second, I'd like to suggest a wait time applied between purchases at the CW Pawn shop. Not as much as the token shop but maybe a 3 or 5 minute pause would help. I dunno if this was already in place before or if you've (the staff) have given it any thought but after experiencing the Freylise Trading Company rush... I mean this site has got some damn fast clickers. XD
