It does drop that item, but it's a random drop, not a 5th win drop.

thank you very much..my pet was still in a troll fight and the statistics worked as pointed out in the battle forum. My pet is finally getting strong enough to fight some of these.. yeah! :)

there are some basic battling guides stickied in the Battle Forum. In them, they give several ideas on what to do if your pet won't battle.
Check and see if they're in a battle still, via the Statistics button. Check and see if they're happy and fed on your Pets page. Check and see if they're at zero HP on the Healer page. Remember that if you transferred or adopted your battlepet from the Adopt R Us in the last month, there's a thirty day delay before you can fight.

Aww, I like this opponent because he showed me how far I've come with battling. A couple years ago, he would have stomped me, but now he's a really easy kill with just two moves and barely any damage taken. Sweet! Thanks for a new opponent. :)
