Aw...I kind of like them. They're cute in a creepy way, like a lot of things I like.

And, to the whole 'most common pets in the pound' thing...I see a whole lot more Canis in the pound than Donadak....

Just me I guess...

I don't own a Donadak, have never even considered owning one (because they do kinda give me the creeps... I thin it's because the hands aren't attached to anything), but I hate to see anything gotten rid of. I'm sure for the 377 created, at least 250 of those HAVE to have actual loving owners who would be very upset to see them taken away. So I say try the redraw... there's no way to make EVERYONE happy, but at least the majority.

Revamp the stinkin' thing and do the new pet. I voted to get rid of them, but it people are going to defend the thing, go ahead.

Well if you want me to finish the revamp, (or draw another one?), nobody go getting rid of the Donadaks straight away ok? I'm at a convention this weekend, so I'm really busy now and will be back on monday...I'll draw it next week ok?

The problem with this, is that Hipposarus, and Antlephores never got adopted when they were limited edition for a while. Who says the same wouldn't occur with the donadak. The only thing to save this from happening, and even then isn't garaunteed is Mysticcookies revamp.

Ermm like SAS said, the adoption center is full of Donadaks. You cannot base populatrity over how many exist. How many Festers do you ever see in the pound? How about Boyvnes, or Torrents? Even Terracoons are hardly seen. Because the people who do have them are quite content with them. Unlike them, the adoption center is full of Donadaks.

Sorry, but I say waves bye to the Donadak

for some reason, I look at that and thing 'pokemon' (kinda reminds me of a Geodude). But, as Debi said, when I went to adopt a pet, I went through PAGES of Donadaks! They are even more unloved then the Swampies...

To some, it may seem cute, but the population seems to think otherwise. Sorry, but I'm hoping this might lead to a LESS flooded Adoption center...a place where pets NEED homes instead of overlooked.

I do have BloodRed Donadak and i like it. I agree with the elf. Do the vote for the owners of Donadaks. It isnt fair for the owners of Donadaks those love it when you replace them. Can we even see what does the new pet looks like ? I wish that the Donadaks stay forever here. If the new pet comes, i and the others have to wait that the new colours of new pet comes (And i wish that they DONT come >:[, if the Donadaks go). But why dont we do that the Donadaks stay and the new pets come also? We want Donadaks to stay!

& if you DO replace the donadak and draw several pets and have users vote on which one. you should only let the people who have a donadak vote. they're the ones whose pet is getting replaced, they should have a say in what it looks like. if there's a tie or something then let everyone else vote but otherwise.. in my opinion donadak owners are the ones who should be choosing the new pet beacuse, as i said, they're the ones whose pet is getting replaced. when the slushii was killed off, they turned into cybills, which i don't like. grrr.

or what you should really do is just redraw the donadak in a few different versions. maybe attach the legs but not make it completely different.

I AGREE. if you don't like a pet, don't get one.

and if you want to have a new pet, JUST MAKE A NEW PET. don't get rid of an existing one. i personally don't like how the otter is drawn. the face is creepy. but i'm not going around saying get rid of the otter.

also, i don't think the kumos and telenine fit in with the rest of the pets, not if you're going by how they're drawn- the rest of the pets have black borders, those two don't. and the malticorn has a much thicker black border. but nobody is saying get rid of them.

Personally, my problem with the donadak is that they have no body and floating hands. It's pretty much impossible to RP a pet with no actual body, especially in anthroform, and thus, I'd never own one. I think it looks more like a minion than an actual pet, and it's clearly not particularly popular--go look in the pound, or go look at the numbers of them vs other species.

Still, I DO hate when sites change or update a pet without giving people a lot of places toinput. I think if you get rid of the donadak there should be at least a handful of new pet designs to choose from, so that people feel like they have a hand in the new design. And I personally wouldn't replace it with a cuter pet, I'd replace it with a more neutral/tough looking pet. It seems like the kind of thing that would attract a more "masculine" audience, if you'll pardon the stereotyping.

Anyway, I voted "yes" to getting rid of it, and I stand by that. I just hope that we'll get plenty of occasion forinput on a new pet, if it's put on the site.

I wish we could have a new pet and keep/revamp the Donadaks. I'd love to see a new pet, but I feel sorry for people who don't want to lose their pet...

The numbers don't lie people

Ok, I will admit, the revamp is cute, it is better than our current situation. But why would a simple revamp sudden cause a rush of people of the forums, posting random topics to the lines of, "Rocks rox my sox!" Because it most likely won't.

In an ideal situation, we could have the Donadak and the new pet side by side. But what is the point, when people will just dump them in the pound, causing them to clear it, just as DebiLee said.

I am all for Donadak lovers, but obviously there isn't enough of them...

Yes, I voted against keeping this pet here.

As teh others said, it just doesn't fit with Subeta's style; it needs to have something happen to it. I think a lot of people are taking this negatively. You all shook to this as a bit of improvement within the site itself.

When pets go in pounds in real life, everyone gripes about it, especially one or two certain species that seem to get euthanized the most. Wouldn't it make sense to change someone's outlook on it so that the craeture had a better chance of being adpoted? I think so.

I'm all for a change, regardless of what might come from it.

Even if people say it should be redrawn doesn't mean it should gotten rid of...the underlying design is a cute idea...it just needs updating...it's an old pet! Loads of pets looked a bit 'off' before they were revamped but we didn't get rid of those. I think the donadak should at least be given a chance...maybe consider mystic's redraws (if she doesn't mind)...personally, if that design was used I'd definately be getting a donadak!

Ooops! Forgot a couple of points. Donadaks sit in the Pound and are cleared every Pound sweep because no one wants to adopt them. I'm not saying that it should be replaced with an ultra cute pet or anything, just something that fits in more with Subeta's pet style. And a lot of people voting to keep it have nothing to do with them either, so it doesn't seem to me that that's even a factor. Some people voted for them don't even actually like them either. Also, whatever the replacement pet would be should be given a chance; there was no option in the poll for both, it's an either/or question. And you wouldn't need to save up for an expensive elixir if you happened not to like the new pet; it could be zapped. I personally would be happy to provide at least one five point Wizard Token to any longterm Donadak owners who really hated the replacement, or, in some cases, arrange to adopt it and Zap it into something else myself for them. So there really isn't as much to lose if it's replaced, and, as I said, a lot of people might just prefer the replacement.

If it was "popular, loved, and well-drawn" the vote wouldn't be running so heavily against it. Even at best people are suggesting a redraw, which sort of just goes to prove that it isn't the best drawn pet, and that it genuinely doesn't fit in. And I did own a Sun Donadak, as a matter of fact, but ended up Pounding it because of this. Even those who don't have one themselves are affected; it's stll quasi frightening looking and perhaps they'd prefer not to see it.

I just don't agree that they should be completely removed.
I would be all for a revamp if that lovely little sketch Mystic posted was to be it! 83! It makes me squeal, it's just that coote! XB
I think Stijn is right in that most of the people who vote for the Donadak's downfall are those who don't have anything to do with them- a percent of them probably have no idea what one really is. I suppose the first impression given to a new user by the Donadak isn't one of immediate love and want, but they have that different air about them that just grows on you after while, I believe.

I think it's the rock body that is doing it. Making it unpopular. You could make its body cute, maybe fluffy. I bet its popularity score would sky rocket then! Just keep the tongue, the eyes and maybe the hand. That might do it.

Good point Agukachu...not only would they lose a pet they loved but they'd also have to pay sp to morph it if they didn't like the new pet...all in all...this would be really unfair on donadak owners.
