Remember how the Fester got a complete overhaul, I'd like to see something like that with the Swampie.
I didn't even notice a difference until someone put the old and new one side by side. While they do look betterm I have to agree I love 's ideas for the Swampie the best. Perhaps if they looked something like that and had more life in them I'd want one, but unfortunately not as is.
Needs a total overhaul... :( I would love one as a pet but too.... plain.
I would have 1,000 Swampies if they looked like yours. I've always loved the idea of the Swampie, like having your own little Loch Ness monster as a pet, but they are a tad dull in the art department, and that's what's kept me away.
The swampie has to be one of the most boring pets. Seriously, I can't even see the change here :(
I honestly love your interpretation of the swampie. It's really, really good! I agree that the pets on here could use way more detail than what a lot are, even though the art for them is fantastic. I'd love to see more fur detail, more scale detail, more...anything detail, really, depending on the pet specie. There's not enough of it and I know these phenomenal artists can do such things. I mean, look at the steamworks pets! They really do know detail!
I have always loved swampies and I LOVE this update! ;A; Makes me wish I still had one... might need to make another one at some point. Unpopular opinion, but I don't mind that they are simply shaped... though more markings might be nice.
they do look so much better, but still not up to par with the rest of the pets onsite. still won't be needing one. :(
While there are some improvements to the pet, I'm really disappointed in how lackluster the actual pet is. It only has around three colors on it, which in and of itself makes it feel a bit simplistic, and there aren't very many patterns going for it to help it shine as a pet. There are SO MANY pets on the site that don't get a lot of attention, when a tweak or two and they could shine so hardcore. Even just changing up the spines to be less stiff / orderly could give this pet a lot of character, and that's really what it's lacking here: something that makes it stand out from the crowd.
Below I've drawn an example of what I mean. And keep in mind this literally took me roughly only 30 minutes, so the lineart / shading is absurdly rushed / only really a basic example, but adding more detail to it like little ridges in its skin, or a more complex color scheme rather than just very smooth / very little anatomical features could give this pet so much more life and vibrancy to it. Even incorporating the color of the eye for the Common one would help tremendously with the flow of coloration.

I'd really like to see Subeta spiff up some of the pets that aren't as common like the feline / canine / equine / draconic pets. There are so many other species that could be totally unique and fascinating if you'd take the time to let them into the spotlight. But that's really just my opinion / critique.
Rah openly said she is alright with more colorfill suggestions, and Aqua was a very popular demand. ;) So were Cherry and Silver.

Hah, wouldn't be the first time I inspired such a change but something tells me you're going to be stuck with overlays, unfortunately. :(
As for the other complaints... Yeah, I kind of agree. The swampie's a bit plain but I also love it for it's simplicity. If only I had plans for a plesiosaur like pet.
Aaaaaaa yesss (...but the tail and fins look a little off to me still). Doesn't matter in the end though SWAMPIE LOVE.
I wish the swampies could be made to look more emotive and dynamic. A Subetan version of Nessie, would be nice.
I think this pet looks very outdated. Maybe it's the huge lack of details.
I keep forgetting this pet even exists since it just doesn't catch my attention enough. :(

Shading's better, but it's still one of the more dull pets for my taste.
I sent my original comment too soon...the lineart is virtually identical. The only differences are in the shading and the rounded points on the spines on the head and back. There was more definition to the eyes in the old version than there is now. They look more lifeless if anything. Very disappointing. They really need a much better update than this minute change :/

With the people that agree that it's an upgrade, but even then it still looks somewhat lifeless.
Its better, but you guys didn't take it far enough I don't think. At least it doesn't look like a piece of plastic now.

I don't mind the style of their eyes -- for example, I think the Field Swampie's eyes are very nice for a water creature -- but most of them lack in that depth and contrast, and appear flat and lifeless.
The new shading is an improvement (esp. Nuclear), and the Aqua looks really nice.
Great update! I think I will go adopt one.
I miss how shiny they were and again the brightness was toned down. As a lover of bright colors, that always depresses me but I do love the new textures and I'm so happy sun stayed orange this time so I'm not complaining.
Oh and as for . They're not official but I hope you like them all the same. ^^

Small changes, but big improvement! I've been waiting for these guys to get a little update and the new shading helps them a lot! Aqua looks so good on them.
Nice shading on these c: I really really like the idea of a rabbit pet, but the kanis needs major updating next. I can't wait till the kanis gets some love so that I can finally want one <3 keep up the good work, guys!

They look much better and in-line with the other newly updated pets, though I kind of liked the old highlighting, it made them look rubbery, which is what I imagine the Swampie skin to feel like
These guys need full revamps, they look like they've been sent to the taxidermist... nice shading, but they still look dead.

Half of the Swampie's old colors (twilight, cream, FIELD, DAWN) didn't fit everyone else, but man, I have feelings for the shades used for Field and Dawn on the Swampie, and it's something I'd love to see as colors, the same way the Dusk Swampie became pretty much the Aqua Swampie.
I like for colorfills.

Looks great! Nice update on the shading and the roundness, the face even looks better. The gold isn't changed for me but I'm sure it'll update soon.
Is it just me or do these common recolor still have more detail than the nightmare swampie? I mean I'm always happy to see swampie love around here. I have a small hoard of swampies. The aqua is lovely. But ... I just ... want them to have MORE.

I love the Swampie as it is. Plain? So? They're beautiful. they get fancy in the special potion poses, but i've always loved the simplicity of cream, dusk, nuclear, etc on the swampie.
