Eh. There's something weird about the revamp of the Montre that I'm not liking... I prefer the older. HOWEVER, the revamped Devonti is divine.

wow! These revamps are nice! and they keep everything that was going on in the old art! - vibes, poses... and the Montre seems more anatomically correct -i don't know why would this be relevant here, but this i snot really my concern. i should have an extra pet to turn into all these new colors and revamps when they get released.. because now i kinda want them both. perhaps i like the montre more

Not an artist and done all by mouse. Anatomy will probably be off some. However, I thought I'd post a suggestion...

The muzzle isn't nearly as boxy and I narrowed the legs some. Not much, but enough. It's very rough, but seeing as this is supposed to be a fox like pet, it seemed more fitting...

Welp. Guess I'm changing my Hydrus Montre. I do NOT like the new one.... it seems distorted to me, especially compared to the old one, particularly in the face and neck area. :c

The art on both is lovely, but, like others, my first thought on the Montre was that it felt more Kumos-y. It looks heavier boned than it's predecessor. Honestly it reminds me of the comparison between a show Border Collie or Australian Shepherd and a working, farm dog of either breed. You tend to see a lot more bone and coat in the show ring than you do on working stock. While I don't hate the change, I don't love it either. It will take getting used to. The Hydrus Montre was my first ever pet goal on the site and as a result I am very attached to the old art.

Oh gosh that new Devonti looks awesome. I love its expression and how fluffy it looks! I also love the Montre revamp. The ears, tails, and wing-fin-things(??) look great. I feel like the eyes are a bit too narrow though? Idk something about the eyes seems off to me, but overall it is an incredible revamp!

The new Devonti looks very nice, much better than the old one! (in my opinion) I would say that the Montre still needs a bit of work; I like some of the things the new one has going for it, like the deeper eye color, and the varied brown patterns on the spines, but I have to agree with some users that it's looking a bit more like a Kumos than a Montre. A bit short and stout, and the muzzle is in a bit far for what I'm used to seeing on a Montre (I also prefer the slightly longer horns on the original but that's, again, opinion).

Overall, very lovely work though! Thanks go out to the artist(s) :)

This is the way revamps SHOULD be: literally the same pet design drawn in the same pose with the same expression, only with shiny new updated art (unless the original pose just plain doesn't work anymore). Great job, doods. I especially love the translucency on the Montre's tailfins.

there are SO MANY hydrus pets I can't wait to see revamped, omg. Darkonite, Endeavor, Feli, Keeto, Antlephore, Kora, Kerubi--THE HYPE IS REAL.

I do like the added colors on the montre but it's neck looks kinda stiff? It's whole body looks stiff...But that just might be a problem all montres have

Everyone's pointing out the face, but I think I'm mostly hung up on the placement of the ears. It's left ear seems to be too far up and around the back of its head?

My husband has the montre, and I've spent some time looking at it before now, but I have to admit, this revamp looks exactly the same to me? Does anyone have the old art? Can we see a side by side?

Love that devonti. The montre's face is throwing me, taking away that neck tilt but leaving features slanted/elongated is a bit awkward.

Oh wow, I really like the devonti, and I'm usually not a fan of their design. I think it's the expression that does it for me. The montre's pose looks a bit stiff and dull to me, since it's just kind of... standing there, but I guess since that's what the original is like I can't complain too much. I do love the transparent fins though.

Fingers crossed for the Ontra next! It would be nice in the spirit of the new ontra/Alexander revamps, yeah?

It looks more Kumos to me because it has a longer, more rounded, thicker snout than other Montres I've seen. I'm not saying I don't think it looks good, because I actually really like it.

I do like the redesign, but I have to admit that while I love most things about the montre, the head angle/snout are not quite right, nor are the leg thickness and the ankles. This might be because of a different artist than the original? Still, I love the updated shading and the better feel overall.

Really sad about the Montre being changed. The old design looked sleek and threatening, and I agree with someone else who said the new one looks like a Kumos. Since I can't afford an overlay, guess I'll be changing it to Storm.

I'm a little confused as to why we can see through the end of the tail of the Montre. Is it supposd to represent some kind of transparent seaweed?

It's not really ironic; I don't care about arguments and escalation. Websites don't even need to mediate most things because people will wallow in their bile, get it all out, and eventually move on. It's kinda unnecessary to police a minor tiff on a fairly unimportant news post.

What I'm saying is the SITE cares about arguments and escalation, which is why they police things at all. So in the interest of that, and fairness, and the fact that my comment (that was too sick and wrong to remain viewable by the human eye that it had to be deleted) REMAINS because it was quoted, it just makes sense to get rid of both sides.

I want nothing more than to crawl back under my rock right now because I didn't want this fight in the first place, and I would have already done so if the other side had been removed as well. I don't think that's irrational of me.
